CHAPTER I
MISSION
Zoe University is a Christian, co-educational, non-
denominational institution dedicated to offering
students educational opportunities to prepare them
academically, professionally and spiritually to
serve God in professions to which they have been
called. The mission is to restore God’s Word to its
proper place within the academic community,
bringing Biblical truth to bear within every
discipline and in every area of life.
DOCTRINAL STATEMENT OF BELIEF
Zoe University is a Christ-centered institution.
The Board of Trustees, along with the faculty, staff
and students of the University are committed to an
evangelical interpretation and application of the
Christian faith. Students will both understand and
be committed to the following articles of beliefs:
A. That the Holy Bible is the inspired,
infallible and authoritative source of
Christian doctrine and precept.
B. That there is one God, eternally existent in
three persons: Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
C. That man was created in the image of God,
but as a result of sin is lost and powerless to
save himself.
2
D. That the only hope for man is to believe on
the Lord Jesus Christ, the virgin born Son of
God, who died to take upon Himself the
punishment for the sin of mankind and who
rose from the dead so that by receiving Him
as Savior and Lord, man is redeemed by His
blood.
E. That in Jesus Christ's imminent personal
return to earth in power and glory. F. That the Holy Spirit indwells those who
receive Christ for the purpose of enabling
them to live righteous and holy lives.
G. That the church is the Body of Christ and is
composed of all those who through belief in
Christ have been spiritually regenerated by
the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. The
mission of the church is world wide
evangelization on the one hand and the
nurture and discipline of Christians on the
other.
H. That satan was originally created a perfect
being. He rebelled against God. As a
result, he became the devil, an adversary of
God and His people and leader of a host of
angels who fell with him. Satan has been
judged and defeated at the cross and awaits
his ultimate doom at the Second Coming of
Christ.
I. That there is an eternal abode of God and
the holy angels, where Jesus intercedes for
His people on earth and where the spirits of
departed saints await their resurrected,

glorified bodies. Heaven is a literal place of
conscious bliss to which all saints go upon
death and from which the Lord Jesus Christ
will come to receive those saints who are
alive at His coming. To depart and be in
heaven is to be “present with the Lord” and
so is “far better” than to remain alive on
earth, but the eternal blessedness of heaven
is only for those who possess eternal life
through faith in the atoning work of Christ.
J. That Hell is literal place of judgment
created for the devil and those angels who
followed him in his rebellion against God.
In the final state, the devil and his demons
will spend eternity banished from the
presence of God in the Lake of Fire. This
same final punishment also awaits all
unredeemed people who refuse to believe on
the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Prior to
the final state, the soul of the unjust at death
is condemned to hades in a state of
conscious torment until the resurrection of
the unjust. At this resurrection, the
disembodied soul is reunited with the
resurrected body and cast into the Lake of
Fire.
GENERAL OBJECTIVES
Zoe University is committed to the true and living God and
the philosophy that all truth comes from God through His
Word. Zoe University seeks to educate students with a

Lord Jesus Christ who came to this world to reveal the
infallible Word of God to the entire world. Through these
programs the student will sense the world's spiritual needs
and urgency of spreading the Gospel while gaining an ability
through free inquiry to understand God's desire for his life in
the pursuit of God's truth.

model for the cultivation of devotional and spiritual habits
and the articulation of information which will lead to
spiritual maturity and leadership in the world and in the
church.

Zoe University when a student desires to withdraw from
all activities. If a Withdrawal Form is not submitted the
student will receive an “F” on their transcript for every
course that is incomplete. If the student still has an
outstanding balance at the time of their withdrawal, they
will be expected to pay the full amount still owed to Zoe
University. Funds paid in advance, that are unused at the
time of withdrawal, are non-refundable.
8. If students have an outstanding balance on their student
account statement, an official transcript will not be
issued until that balance is paid. To receive an official
transcript the student must contact Zoe University by
mail and include the cost of $7.00 per copy .
9. Zoe University pays for postage on courses shipped to
anyplace in the United States. Foreign students will be
charged postage on courses shipped to any place outside
the United States at a rate of $10.00 minimum or the
exact postage if over $10.00.

CHAPTER XV
GRADUATION
Even though a student may register for enrollment
at Zoe University anytime during the year and
their classes can be started at any time, the
commencement ceremonies are held just once a

will be required to reapply for graduation the
following year and repay full graduation fees.
Diplomas will be ordered for those students who
have been accepted for graduation at Zoe

CHAPTER III
IMPORTANT
INFORMATION
Each student will receive the following items in each
course:
1. Video(s) or DVD(s) labeled with the course name
and number.
2. Course Competency Based Module/Study Guide.
3. Video/DVD Reproduction and Audit Agreement.
The following is a step-by-step guide for completing each
course. Please read!!!
1. Before beginning, READ THE COMPETENCY
BASED MODULE THROUGH VERY
CAREFULLY. Review the EXIT OUTCOME
ACTIVITIES (homework) IN DETAIL to ensure that
the required Exit Outcome Activities (homework)
assignments are understood and the instructions are
followed explicitly.
2. Fill in all blanks in the Study Guide while listening to
each lesson on Videos or DVDs. The instructor will
give the exact word or words to fill in the blank. Read
the Study Guide one line at a time while listening to the
instructor. Listen, read and write at the same time
until all the blanks of the Study Guide are
completely filled.
3. Keep a Bible on hand for reference and take additional
notes as this will help in completing the Exit Outcome
Activities (homework). The Competency Based
Module/Study Guide is part of the homework and is
to be returned with the homework. The
Competency Based Module/Study Guide will not be
returned turned to the student.
16
4. Spelling, neatness, punctuation, and following
directions all become a part of the grade. Be sure to
use a dictionary when questions arise concerning the
spelling of a word; thereby, increasing your language
skills. Always proofread all work.
5. Include Scriptural references to substantiate the main
points. Bible references are not to be footnoted. Do
not abbreviate references. Identify Scripture AT
THE END of each quote or passage by placing it in
parenthesis. Example: (Genesis 1:1). Keep complete
Scripture references on the same line. Do not break up
the reference with part of the book name on one line
and chapter and verses on another. Place punctuation
marks at the end of the closed parenthesis as shown.
The letters KJV do not need to follow the Scripture
location, as the King James Version is the version to be
used (see each Competency Based Module). The
course instructor is not to be footnoted. On-line or web
references are to be written in the same manner as
magazines in both footnotes and bibliographies (when
writing footnotes, a bibliography is always required).
They are to follow below the book listing and each one
should be underlined just as listed on-line. Respect
should be shown to God by placing quoted Scripture in
its own paragraph.
6. There is a maximum of thirty (30) days to complete
each course. This means that all the Videos or DVD’s,
Competency Based Modules/Study Guides, Workshop
Cassette Tapes or CDs and Required Homework
must be postmarked on or before the end of thirty (30)
days, as indicated on the “Reproduction and Audit
Agreement” form enclosed with each course. There is
a $5 a day late fee for each day beyond the thirty day
allowance.
7. In case of an emergency, if more than thirty (30)
days are needed to complete the course, contact must
be made to the office by calling or writing to obtain

8. When quoting Scripture, quote EXACTLY
(Revelation 22:18-19). Do not add words and do not
leave words out, EXCEPT as noted with ellipsis
points. Everyone can learn from God’s Word, but
no one can improve upon it.
9. A cover sheet similar to the example shown in the
Competency Based Module with Study Guide and in
this Student Handbook is to be used for each Exit
Outcome Activity (homework) and bound with a paper
binder using three staples. Directions for making an 8
½” x 11” binder: (1) Fold a full sheet of white 20 lb.
copy paper (8 ½” x 11”) in half lengthwise. (2) Open
the folded paper and now fold each side to the middle
at the fold line. (3) Continue to fold each side on top
of itself and toward the middle until there have been
three folds made on each half. (4) The next and final
fold will bring the two sides together and is now
complete. It can now be used to hold the pages of your
completed activity along with the cover sheet attached
on the top. DO NOT USE ANY PLASTIC COVERS
OR CARD STOCK---COLORED OR
OTHERWISE---FOR COVERS.
10. On 8 ½” x 11” paper the left margin is to be one and a
half (1½) inches and the right margin is to be one (1)
inch. For the body of all exit outcome activities
requested, except when charts and tables are called for,
set “Full” justification (where the sentences go all the
way from 1½ inches on the left of the page to one inch
on the right side of the page). Use Arial or Times New
Roman font or a similar font for the body of all exit-
outcome activities. All papers should show full
justification with the body of words lined straight
up and down on both the left and right sides (this
page is an example).
18
Use number twelve (12) font-size for the body of
the Exit Outcome Activities.
Place a TITLE (in capital letters) at the top and
center of the inside first page of all
exit-outcome activities. Use number twelve
(12) bold font-size for the title.
The activity’s letter “A” will have the title centered
and listed as the activity’s heading. When the heading
requires over thirty-two spaces, place the second line so
the whole title appears in upside down pyramid
fashion like the following example:
Practicing Personal Prayer Power
and Observing Goals
This heading will be re-created and changed to identify
each of the next Exit Outcome Activities. This same
process will follow with each activity thereafter,
including B, C, D, E, F, G, and etcetera. Unless the
Exit Outcome instructions state differently, limit course
work papers to a minimum of three (3) and a maximum
of no more than six (6) pages per paper. Use of more
than six pages per Exit Outcome Activity paper will
require special permission from the Academic Dean.
11. NOTICE: All students must complete and return the
“REPRODUCTION AND AUDIT AGREEMENT”
form, each time a course is finished, with the date the
course is received written on this form.
12. Write papers in third person only, not in first or second
person. The only exceptions are when quoting others.
Papers written about yourself should be written in first
person.
13. The student is responsible for sending all homework
directly to Zoe University, P.O. Box 8435,
Jacksonville, Florida 32239. A large, stamped, self-
addressed envelope must be included for the return

EXIT OUTCOME PAGE ONE EXAMPLE
DEALING WITH THE COUNSELEE
PATIENT’S SPIRITUAL ISSUES
When a patient has been over-medicated with drugs by
his doctor, as a means of keeping that patient calm, cool and
controlled, the patient will need to have those drugs replaced
with something else when their removal finally takes place.
There is only one thing that can bring about success in caring
for the original mental condition of anyone. That condition
was the reason for having those prescription drugs in the first
place. Once the failed drugs are removed, there must be a
different catalyst to serve in their place. That one
replacement is truth. Jesus said that He is the truth. The
apostle John started off his gospel by writing these words:
“In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God
and the Word was God” (John 1:1).
Then John elaborated on his use of the word logos
(Greek: ). By capitalizing the first letter of the word,
“Word,” we know that John was giving us a proper noun and
speaking of a particular and unique person. Then John
continued his writing. He said:

“The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us and
we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only
begotten of the Father, full of grace and
truth” (John 1:14).
The scribes and Pharisees (John 8:3) said they were not
born of fornication (John 8:41), referring derogatorily to
Christ’s own virgin birth. They also said that Jesus was a
Samaritan (John 8:48) or a half or mixed-breed that did not
even know who His Father was. Then they said that He had
a devil within Him (John 8:48) or that He was a liar
(John 8:52). Jesus responded directly to them and indirectly
concerning the charges they chose to level against Him.
Jesus answered:
“I have not a devil but I honor my Father and
ye do dishonor me. And I seek not mine
own glory: there is one that seeketh and
judgeth. Verily, verily, I say unto you, if a
man keep my saying, he shall never see death.
If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste
of death … Verily, verily, I say unto you,
Before Abraham was, I am.” (John 8:49-52,
54-56, 58).

CHAPTER XIII
BIBLIOGRAPHY
The bibliography is a record of the reference
materials used in the preparation of the writing and
all that are footnoted in the report. The entries in
the bibliography are listed in ALPHABETICAL
ORDER according to the author’s last name. The
bibliography page is a separate page placed at the
end of a report and it is single-spaced with double
spacing between entries. The title Bibliography is
two inches from the top of the page. Entries for
various types of reference materials are typed
using a reverse indention system as illustrated in
the examples below and in the “Documentation
Checklist”. Be sure to note the differences in
handling the title of a book, the title of a magazine
article, and media sources, that is, videos, DVD’s,
CD’s, filmstrips, cassette tapes, and the internet.
Each paper that requires a bibliography must have
a minimum of two references and this does not
count internet listings. The two required references
must consist of books other than dictionaries.
NOTE: Footnote numbers are omitted in the
Bibliography.

CHAPTER IV
GUIDELINES FOR EXIT
OUTCOME ACTIVITIES
(HOMEWORK)
ALL GRADUATE WORK MUST BE TYPED. The
instructions in the EXIT OUTCOME ACTIVITIES are
based on typed material. Remember, part of the grade is
based upon how well the instructions are followed.
TYPEWRITTEN PAGES INSTRUCTIONS:
A. Left margin 1-1/2 inches.
B. Right margin 1 inch.
C. Top margin 1 inch.
D. Bottom margin 1 inch.
E. Double-spaced.
F. NO strikeovers, erasures, pen replacements,
correction fluids or the use of correction tapes
are accepted.
G. A paragraph must have at least two sentences.
Indent the beginning of all paragraphs five (5)
spaces.
1. There must be at least two lines of a paragraph
at the top of a page.
2. There must be at least two lines of a paragraph
at the bottom of a page.
24
H. There are two spaces after:
1. Punctuation at the end of a sentence.
2. Colon.
I. Never end a sentence with a preposition. Examples
of prepositions: at, in, on, with, for, by, to, of,
throughout, inside, away, and from.
J. Do not use abbreviations such as Xn., Xnty., XP,
i.e., e.g., cf., ff, op. cit.(except for Mr., Mrs., Ms.,
Dr. etcetera) and do not use symbols such as: &, /,
*, %, $, etc. (this abbreviation must be spelled out as
etcetera). Parenthesis ( ), brackets [ ], quotation

and bold type are all acceptable when they are
used appropriately. When using footnotes it is
acceptable to use ibid when referencing the same
author on more than one occasion.
1. Write out all numbers that can be written in one
or two words. This principle clearly applies to
numbers one through one hundred but it
also applies to larger round numbers like four
thousand or nine million. An exception is
when used in conjunction with complete
Scripture locations, as: 1 Corinthians 14:40.
2. Number all pages of exit outcome activities at
the bottom center of each page except the
cover sheet and the first page of the assignment
and the bibliography page.
K. Do not use favorite words or phases repeatedly.
Use a good Thesaurus to avoid using constant
repetition. Do not insert slang, colloquial, archaic
words, or contemporary idioms and avoid informal
words such as lot and got and obsolete words like
also. Avoid using nonexistent and non-Biblical

Footnotes are recorded differently depending upon
where the material was obtained. For example, a
footnote from an article or story taken from a
newspaper is recorded differently than from an
article taken from a magazine, encyclopedia and
other resource books or online. The following are
different types of footnote examples. It is
important that the student records their
footnotes correctly.
Example of a Book with one author:
Lowell A. Dickmeyer, Skateboarding Is
for Me. (Minneapolis, Minnesota: Lerner
Publications Company, 1978), p. 3.

FOOTNOTE EXAMPLE: Dr. Fiorentino brought out the idea that the only weapons
satan has are: affliction, persecution, cares of this world, the
deceitfulness of riches and the lust of other things.1 Most
people do not realize that when they receive the Word of
God in their heart, satan comes immediately to choke out the
Word and make it unfruitful in their lives. Dr. Fiorentino
further states, “When a man receives salvation, he is weak.
He is a little baby in Christ; he must have growing time. He
needs growing time in the Word of God.”2
NOTE: In the above Scripture reference,
quotation marks were not used in the first footnote
because it is not an exact quote. The second
footnote is a statement made by Dr. Fiorentino;
this is enclosed in quotation marks because it is
quoted verbatim from her book. Reference may be
made to a portion of Scripture that is paraphrased
by the student without quotation marks. For either
example, at the end of the reference or quote,
identify it by naming the Scripture, enclose it in
parenthesis, and then a period.
Example: (John 3:16). No period is placed before
the parenthesis.

(NOTE: Ibid is used to refer to a preceding footnote.)
25
words such as chance and luck. Always venture to
use the very best grammar possible so as to be
clearly understood by every reader.
L. Use and quote from the KING JAMES VERSION
BIBLE ONLY. This is done for uniformity and
standard grading purposes so time consuming
checking and comparison of other multiple versions
will not be required of staff. Always single space
and identify Scripture locations AT THE END of
the passage, not at the beginning.
Example: “If we say that we have not sinned,
we make him a liar, and His Word is not in
us” (1 John 1:10).
Scripture is enclosed in quotation marks. The
location is enclosed in parenthesis. Do not break up
the Scripture location with part of the book name
and location on one line with the rest of the
location on the next line. Spell out numbers when
the full Scripture location is not given. Do not
abbreviate Scripture.
Example: (2 Timothy 2:15-16) - YES
(2 Tim. 2:15-16) - NO
The name satan is often considered grammatically
correct with the first letter of his name receiving a
capitalized “S”. This is seen in the King James
Version as well as the majority of other Bible
versions. This does not infer that he is given any
respect or credibility, other than the fact that he is
the father of lies (John 8:44), he is the one that is
“transformed into an angel of light” (2 Corinthians
11:14), “he was a murderer from the
beginning” (John 8:44) and his is the synagogue of
liars (Revelation 3:9). At Zoe University, we
choose not to show any respect whatsoever or to
26
even hint at dignifying the person of satan in any
way, shape or form and therefore, when students use
his name in their papers they are authorized and are
expected to use an “s” from the lower case at the
beginning of his name, unless his name is at the
beginning of a sentence. This spelling includes the
serpent, the anti-Christ, the false prophet, the beast,
god of this earth and any and all other
representations of and names of the devil.
M. Never begin a sentence with any of these three
words: And, Or, or But. It is true the Bible often
begins a sentence with “And,” however, students are
neither writing nor re-writing the Bible.
N. Always capitalize words or names denoting the
Deity such as Heavenly Father, the Almighty,
Jesus, Holy Spirit, Creator, Thee, Thou, He, Him,
and His. Exceptions not requiring capitalizing
include who, whose and whom. All names for the
Bible and other sacred writings are to be capitalized
such as: Bible, Biblical, Gospel, Holy Scriptures,
Scriptural, Scripture and Word (as it pertains to the
Word of God). All names of confessions of faith
as well as religious bodies and their adherents are
capitalized.
O. Always place commas after words such as
“therefore,” “however,” “in addition” or “first.”
P. There is one space after commas.
Q. Short simple sentences are always better than long,
confusing ones.
R. Double-space all Exit Outcome Activities.
Exceptions include: outlines, footnotes,
bibliographies, requested columns, rows, graphs,
charts, and tables. These must all be single-spaced.
55
CHAPTER XII
FOOTNOTES
A Footnotes are used to give recognition to and
identify the source of quoted ideas gleaned from
another resource, as well as, non-quoted ideas
ascertained from an author’s writings.
B. Footnoted references are indicated with an Arabic
number in the space above the typed line.
C. In formal academic dissertations, the footnote
reference sources are typed in single space at the
bottom of the page below a two-inch line extended
from the left margin. See examples in this
chapter. Concerning footnotes:
1. Do not footnote Scripture references. Biblical
references are stated within the body of the
paper.
2. Do not footnote your text-book. It is assumed
that you will be using some information from
your textbook.
3. Do not foot-note your Instructor. The
instructor can be named in the body of the
paper when something they have said sparked a
need to reiterate their words.
4. When using Internet Addresses or Web Sites in
footnotes or bibliographies list them as a
magazine article.
5. Unless stipulated in the Exit Outcome
Activities each paper that requires footnotes
must have a minimum of two footnotes.
This must consist of books other than
dictionaries.
54
27
S. Formal diction excludes slang and verb
contractions. In addition, formal papers are always
written in the third person. Exceptions include
quoting others (and when writing a letter to
someone). Verb contractions include can’t,
couldn’t, don’t, hasn’t, isn’t, let’s, won’t, shouldn’t,
and so on, in exit outcome activities or formal and
other academic papers. These words may be used by
the instructors and in the study guides for
instructional purposes but are not to be used in
formal papers. Contractions are not to be
confused with the possessive forms of nouns or
indefinite pronouns, as in Jim’s book, the cats’
meow, nobody’s business. Periods and commas
always appear before closing quotation marks.
Semicolons and colons always follow after closing
quotation marks, when using them is grammatically
correct.
T. Give Activities a title on the first page after the
cover sheet. Bold number 12 point font is to be
used in the title. The body of the activity should be
completed in regular number 12 point font of either
Arial or Times New Roman (or a similar font may
be used).
U. A good “rule of thumb,” pertaining to exit outcome
activities is this: “When writing academic or
formal papers, if there appears to be a shortcut,
do not take it.” To avoid simple grammatical
errors and run-on sentences, always use your
computers “Spell-check.” Re-read all Exit
Outcome Activities before sending them to Zoe
University for grading.
V. Do not list the words INTRODUCTION, BODY
or CONCLUSION on exit outcome activities or
outlines. Use of these words is an admission of
ineffectiveness of the beginning, middle and ending.
28
W. Whenever footnotes are required in Exit Outcome
Activities a minimum number of three (3) is
expected to be used. Whenever a footnote is
required A BIBLIOGRAPHY IS ALWAYS
AUTOMATICALLY REQUIRED.
X. The terms “his or her,” or “himself/herself” are not
to be used in place of the words they, their,
themselves in formal papers. These terms are
euphemisms that are antagonistic towards the holy
God and His living Word. When the Bible speaks
of “him” it often speaking of humanity or both men
and women. Both of our first parents were called
“Adam” by God (Genesis 5:2). These terms may
be used by the instructors and in the study guides for
instructional purposes but are not to be used in
formal papers.
Y. When using informational resource books, use Bible
reference books, when possible, in place of secular
references. Example: Use Bible dictionaries in
place of regular dictionaries. Use Bible
concordances in place of regular dictionaries or
encyclopedias. Use Bible commentaries in place of
regular dictionaries and encyclopedias.
Z. Avoid writing big words for the simple means of
filling space or to be impressive. When using the
word for: “and so forth,” do not abbreviate “etc.”
Write out “etcetera.”

above a “D.” For example: a student who turns in the
Study Guide and makes the letter grade of “A” on all Exit
Outcome Activities but does not complete the Workshop
Activities, will not receive a grade higher than “D”. The
Competency Based Module with Study Guide is to be
completed as the Video or DVD is being played. The
student will also begin to plan the workshop outlines and
cassette tapes as they listen to the Video or DVD. For the
Individual Distance Learning Student, four (4) thirty (30)
minute cassette teachings or sermons are required for each
course.
The workshop requirements for all On-Campus Students are
listed in the Competency Based Module with Study Guide,
under Workshop Activities. Study Guide (Video Study
Outline) blanks are to be filled out completely and the entire
Study Guide is to be returned with all homework, videos,
DVD’s, signed Tapes Reproduction Forms and Audit
Agreement and other materials received by the student
from Zoe University. When signing up to preach or teach,
the student is then responsible for this time slot. Failure to
appear will lower the next presentation grade by one letter.
Instead of an “A” grade the student would receive nothing
higher than a “B.” A twenty-four hour cancellation time is
obligatory.
These requirements for course completion (written and
workshop activities) are designed to help train students in
disciplining themselves. Overcoming anger and learning
discipline is necessary to be an effective servant of Christ.
Zoe University wants to help every student become all that
God wants them to be in Christ Jesus.
REMINDER: The graduate student must maintain a 3.0 (B)
grade point average to be eligible for
graduation. The transfer student must
complete the last 33 credit hours from Zoe
University on the particular degree level they
are working on to receive that degree.

CHAPTER V
EXIT OUTCOME
ACTIVITIES (HOMEWORK)
WORKSHOP AND COVER
SHEET PROCEDURES
All students must adhere to the procedures for the EXIT
OUTCOME ACTIVITIES located in the Competency Based
Module/Study Guide. Blanks in the Study Guide are to be
filled out completely and the entire Study Guide must be
returned to Zoe University along with all Videos, DVD’s,
Exit Outcome Activities and with Workshop Message
cassette tape Activities to be included. The following are
directions which pertain to the completion of the course
work requirements:
EXIT OUTCOME ACTIVITIES REQUIREMENTS:
GUIDELINES FOR COVER SHEET
1. Each Exit Outcome Assignment must be
bound individually and have its own cover
sheet. All parts of each activity must be bound
together. For instance: If there are two or more
parts to an activity, such as with activity
“A,” all of the parts (1, 2, 3, . . . or A, B, C . .
. etcetera) are to be bound together as one
activity.
2. A Cover Sheet, like the example in each
Competency Based Module/Study Guide is
required for each Exit Outcome Activity. The
cover sheet must be one (8 ½” X 11”) full sheet
of white, 20 pound copy paper and must have
the following information just as shown in the
Module/Study Guide:
30
a. The LETTER or NUMBER of the Exit
Outcome Activity (A, B, C etcetera or 1, 2,
3 etcetera).
b. The STUDENT’S NAME and
STUDENT’S NUMBER.
c. The COURSE NUMBER.
d. The STUDENT’S DEGREE LEVEL of
Master, Specialist or Doctorate.
e. The MAJOR of Theology, Christian
Counseling, Domestic Violence Ministry,
Ministry, or Christian Psychology.
f. DATE when Exit Outcome Activity is
completed. Write the full date out.
(Example: March 8, 2009).
51
CHAPTER XI
COURSE GRADING,
WORKSHOPS, GRADE
POINT AVERAGE AND
TRANSFER CREDITS
The objective of Zoe University is to have a system of
study in which a student completes one course per month
(four weeks) and completes a year of college (33 semester
credit hours) in eleven months. The student is allowed to
work into their schedule the times to complete the video or
DVD and homework; however, they must remain within the
time period of one month or thirty days. If a student desires
to accelerate a course, they may do so as fast as their ability
and time will allow (all courses must be paid for in advance).
From the time the course is begun, the student will have one
month to complete all requirements. At the end of the
course dates, all Exit Outcome Activities, Competency
Based Module with Study Guides, Videos or DVD’s must
be returned by the date on the video or DVD Agreement
form included with each course. If the student does not
complete a part of the homework requirements (written
or workshops) they will be given a grade of “F” for the
course. To remove the “F” from the transcript, the
student will be required to retake and repay for the
course.
The Competency Based Module with Study Guide is part of
the homework and must be completed and returned to
receive a grade. Without the return of the Competency
Based Module with Study Guide, a grade of “F” is assigned
and no further courses are sent until this requirement is
satisfied.
The Workshop Activities are also a vital part of the
homework and must be completed in full to receive a grade

COURSE MATERIAL
There may be times that a student’s Scriptural concept might
conflict with course material. At those times the student is
required to answer the assignment according to the
Professors presentation and it will be graded accordingly.
The student is free to attach, their understanding of the
subject in question, on a separate page, to their homework.
The student’s written concern will be received for comment
and will be addressed in accordance to the assigned course
requirements.

4. The fourth division frequently indicates details and
proceeds with lower-case letters “a, b, c.” Think of
these as items within sentences.
C. When an outline has a Roman Numeral I, it must also
have a Roman Numeral II. The same rule applies with
each and every level of an outline. Example: If there is
an “A” there must also be a “B”. The tabs must be
preset so the entire activity will be in perfect vertical
alignment at both left and right sides.

CHAPTER VII
TURNING IN CASSETTE
TAPE / DVD / Re-Writeable
CD WORKSHOP MESSAGES:
A. The following four items are to be printed legibly on
each case, cassette , DVD or CD:
1. Student’s name.
2. Course number.
3. Workshop number for the course (1, 2, 3 or 4).
4. Title of the message.
B. Each of the four (4) messages in each course must
be thirty minutes in length and each message must
have a separate outline. Attach all outlines together
under one cover with binder.
C. Do not use religious words, phrases or terminology
as statements or questions intermixed with the
message as a means of punctuation or of making
a point either in written Exit Outcome Activities
or on the Cassette Tape/DVD/Re-Writeable CD
Workshop. Example: “Praise the Lord!”
“Hallelujah!” “Thank you, Jesus!” “Amen?”
WORKSHOP ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS FOR
BOTH INDIVIDUAL DISTANCE LEARNING
AND CLUSTER DISTANCE LEARNING
STUDENTS:
38
Cassette Tape/Re-Writeable CD Workshop Activity
A. After viewing the course, prepare four (4) 30-minute
preaching or teaching messages on Cassette Tape,
DVD or Re-Writeable CD’s, on a selected facet of
the teaching material taught in the course. Divide
the course into four (4) parts. The first message will
be over the first part of the course, the second
message on the second part of the course the third
message over the third part of the course and the
fourth message will be over the fourth part of the
course. The message must be based only from
what was taught by the Professor in the course
and not what the students opinion is or what they
think. The message must also be accompanied by a
detailed outline, including Scriptures and examples.
The book, chapter and verse for each Scripture used
must be given. Scriptures and their locations are not
to be abbreviated and must always be placed at the
end of the passage.
B. Messages are not to be read in manuscript form.
It is to be presented as if speaking to a live audience.
Each course requires a total of four (4) 30-minute
messages with four prepared outlines. The four
outlines must be prepared on separate paper for each
message but bound together with one cover sheet.
C. Each individual workshop that is taught or preached
must have some type of visual illustration used in its
presentation.
D. The pattern of the outline must ALWAYS include
the following four (4) parts:
1. Roman numerals (I, II, III, IV) indicate major
topics in a paper.
2. Capital (upper-case) letters (A, B, C) indicate
large divisions of each topic. Divided topics
must have at least two parts (an A and B, a 1
and 2 and so on).

CHAPTER IX
INSTRUCTIONS FOR
OUTLINE WORKSHOP
PREPARATION
The workshop section of the student’s homework for all
preaching/teaching sessions will have a formalized outline to
be turned in with the completed course. This outline will be
graded, along with the content of the message delivered. The
structure and details required for it must be carefully
followed. Each outline will need to be typed using specific
guidelines as to its layout. All outlines are required to be on
a standard eight and one half inches by eleven inches (8 ½” x
11”) sheet of paper turned sideways (landscape setting) with
the information placed in two columns and single spaced.
Additional sheets may be used as needed.
A. The outline’s contents will follow the Roman Numeral
System for numbering and rules. The format is simple.
B. There are certain rules of practice that are required.
Please note the following:
1. Begin with Roman Numeral I for the first major
point or topic which forms the primary level
numbering setup.
2. The second level of numbering is accomplished
through capital (upper-case) letters beginning with
the letter “A” for the first division under the main
point.
3. The third level of numbering begins with an Arabic
number “1, 2, 3” for clarifications of a division.
Think of these as sentences.
42
5. The student is allowed to take their Bible, a copy
of their outline with notes and any visual
aid they may be using, to the pulpit. The
Competency Based Module/Study Guide may
not be taken to the pulpit with them.
6. The student will be graded using the Workshop
Activity Appraisal Form.
C. Dress appropriately for preaching or teaching:
1. Men must wear coat and tie. Jeans, T-shirts,
tennis shoes, shorts, muscle shirts, tank tops,
etcetera are inappropriate and unacceptable.
Women must wear dress or skirt and blouse (no
slacks, pant suits, shorts, sleeveless attire,
spaghetti straps, etcetera).
2. The student will not be allowed to minister if
dressed inappropriately.
3 Visual illustrations for sermons and teaching
may not include personal “statements” made by
using lettered messages or pictures on clothing,
stickers, buttons, pins or other items attached or
as a part of clothing.
D. The student must sign-up through the Cluster
Coordinator for the time they would like to preach
or teach. If the student finds it impossible to be
present for their appointed time to minister, they
must contact the Cluster Coordinator or within 24
hours of the workshop to be rescheduled. Failure to
make contact, once scheduled, will result in a full
letter grade reduction when workshop is presented.
39
3. Arabic numbers (1, 2, and 3) are used for
clarifications of a division.
4. Lower-case letters (a, b, c) indicate details.
OUTLINE NOTES:
Do not limit the outline to only two of the
respective headings. Use as many as needed but
always use a MINIMUM of two headings and
subheadings.
Messages on Cassette Tapes, DVD or Re-
Writeable CD’s for the Workshops must be
submitted with all Exit Outcome Activities.
a. Workshop Cassette Tapes, DVD or Re-
Writeable CD’s will not be returned to the
student.
b. All Cassette Tapes, DVD or Re-Writeable
CD’s must be standard size. Do not use
mini-tapes or mini-CD’s.
RETURN OF VIDEOS AND DVD’S.
A TAPES REPRODUCTION AND AUDIT
AGREEMENT must be completed and returned to Zoe
University with every course. Course videos and DVDs
cannot be sold or checked out for additional review.

second time they must minister for 15 minutes
on the second half of the same course.
3. The student must close their message
immediately once the 15 minute time frame is
