EDITORIAL

For 10 years now, EGGER has inspired and provided options on how

decors can be used through its ZOOM DESIGN GUIDE. We have seen

many trends and developments during this decade, and have actively

contributed to them.

A sign of constant change is in the appetite for creating

combinations. The mixing and matching of materials, colours, styles,

surfaces, and trends has gained more importance and reached a new

dimension in 2014. This is demonstrated by the 20 new ZOOM decors

with seven textures. Discover the range of exciting, trendy, and

harmonized uni colours, wood and material reproductions, as well as

the new generation of surfaces.

In this ZOOM DESIGN GUIDE booklet we simulate four new room

situations. Each room shows different decors in different sizes and

proportions. This way, you can really get a feel for the atmosphere

and how one decor relates to the other. But don’t take our word for

it – instead, experience it yourself: With our VDS tools (for details see

page 51) you don’t have to leave anything up to the imagination. Just

visualise your own decor combinations.

Modular design makes furniture changeable

while simultaneously offering convincing, playful

individualisation. Today’s individual has fewer and

fewer actual possessions, choosing to digitalise

memories and share or borrow consumer goods.

This is why furniture is serving less and less as

storage, instead helping to design and shape the

living space. Such changeable designs demand a

sleekness that can keep adapting itself with timeless

materials.

Here we find bright, neutral unis where the palette

of cool grey hues is gaining importance once again,

as well as lighter, metallic colours and ceramic

materials. Intricate shapes also call for timeless,

elegant wood types with natural characters.

NATURAL TEXTURE MEETS COLOUR

Here the combination of the deeply brushed pine texture ST26 Painted Wood with W1000

Premium White in the opticians provides a more emotional yet neutral background for

the presentation of products. F274 Light Concrete and the lively, light H1250 Navarra Ash

bring contrasting materials to the room. U727 Stone Grey builds a colour bridge between

the various, very independent material characters.

OAk IS TRENDy – ALSO IN SHOP FITTING

Oak stands for nature and is very popular in all design segments. H3325 Tobacco Gladstone Oak with

its dark colour and deep, synchronous surface texture creates a high quality finish. F426 Grey Linen

brings a textile materiality to the shop which fits well with spectacles as a fashion product. The

colours of this design are completed by U702 Cashmere and U343 Vino.

ELEGANT EyE-CATCHER describes H3344 Highline Oak with its special appearance of a jointed veneer. The

dark lines that create surfaces with a special elegance are particularly striking and

also bring naturalness into the room. W1200 Porcelain and U961 Graphite form the

neutral backdrop, allowing U625 Apple Green to create a fresh accent.

CAPE ELM AS THE WALL DESIGN

Since the lobby is an important feature in a hotel, elaborate designs are usually

implemented in this area. This lobby has an elegant atmosphere. The wall design is

eye catching with colour accents and H3766 Dark Brown Cape Elm. The synchronous

surface ST29 FEELWOOD Ambiance emphasises the large florets of Cape Elm with gloss

and depth, this decor works particularly well on large surfaces. The warm granite F390

Valetta Sand and U763 Pearl Grey harmonise with the room’s high end appearance

while U140 Saffron creates a small, warm accent. With U763 Pearl Grey, the ceiling grid

features a harmonising design as well.

USED LOOk FOR THE TRENDy HOTEL

Rustic woods are in particularly high demand for interior design. H1486 Jackson Pine with its

grey-blue colouring is a cool version of this look, which is very well suited for combinations

with shades of blue. The deep surface ST36 Brushed Wood creates a natural feel. This contrasts

with the pure W1000 Premium White, which enhances the character and texture of the wood

surface with ST26 Painted Wood. U633 Turquoise brings an accent colour to the room.

NATURALNESS

can be achieved with elements made of H3344 Highline Oak. It emphasises cubic

elements in particular, thanks to the jointed strips of wood and ST36, making

it noticeably rough. F311 Anthracite Ceramic combined with ST87 Ceramic also

provides a striking surface, while its colours harmonise with the lines of the oak

decor. The combination of these realistic material characters is calmed by the neutral

decor U702 Cashmere. U311 Burgundy acts as a lively and warm colour accent.

MODERNITy AND MATERIAL CHARACTER

are exhibited by this living room in a loft style.

H3326 Grey Beige Gladstone Oak is modern and,

with the synchronous surface ST28 FEELWOOD

Nature, is authentic as well. This makes these

furniture elements appear realistic, forming an

exciting contrast to W1200 Porcelain. With F310

Rust Ceramic, an additional striking material

character is added as an accent on the coffee table

and stands out with its ceramic surface ST87.

DARk ELEGANCE

The style which is found in high-end Italian designer furniture is

achieved by the combination of H3420 Thermo Pine and U741 Lava.

The distinctive feel of the streaked Thermo Pine is achieved by the

contrast in the ST9 Perfect Matt and ST36 Brushed Wood surfaces.

U334 Powder creates an intensive colour accent. The coffee table is an

eye-catcher with the material character of F427 Beige Leather.

WOOD IN SUBTLE COLOURS

is becoming more important again for furniture design. H1379 Brown

Orleans Oak could be mistaken for a solid colour at first glance but

simultaneously leaves nothing to be desired in terms of naturalness. The

elegant, whitewashed pore combines well with W1000 Premium White.

Natural, intensive colours such as U343 Vino creates the perfect accent

and establishes a warm feel without being too dominant. This results in a

harmonious and subtle furniture design that works well with the room’s

timeless loft style.

TIMELESS NATURALNESS

Naturalness is exhibited even without cracks, knots and a striking

interplay of colours in the woodgrain decor. The elegant naturalness and

subtle colouration of H1796 Natural Tortona create a timeless kitchen

design. With the synchronous surface ST27 FEELWOOD Elegance, the

decor appears very authentic. The grey pore combines with U727 Stone

Grey, which has gained great importance in the kitchen as a neutral

combination colour. F385 Cement, a new material trend that goes

beyond the worktop, is also neutral and warm in colour.

EMOTIONAL SURFACES

In the meantime surfaces are exhibiting astounding effects in all material

segments. H3760 White Cape Elm establishes a light naturalness on

kitchen front panels. The synchronous surface ST29 FEELWOOD Ambiance

replicates large, soft florets with depth as well as matt-gloss effects. Reddish

hues of grey such as U748 Truffle emphasise the warm elements of the

very light wood colour. F311 Anthracite Ceramic with the tactile and very

visually emotional surface ST87 Ceramic brings a third element to this

mix & match.

vINTAGE APPEARANCE CREATES ACCENTS

In the field of kitchen design, vintage materials for worktops and their

environment often create an accent to otherwise neutral uni kitchens.

Here this role is played by H1486 Jackson Pine, especially in contrast with

W1000 Premium White. U730 Basalt makes the contrast appear softer

and brings warmth to this combination. A blue hue such as U522 Horizon,

which is also found in the colours of this pine decor, offers itself as a

delicate colour accent.
