Over 200 public members attended the Members’ Say event
Mainly new attendees but some frequent fliers

Seminars – Clinical Research
About 80 people attended the seminars A number signed up to either participate in a
research project or join a lay steering committee. The majority were aware that we are a research-
active hospital, but were very interested by the range of research questions that we were asking.
Some patients had already participated in research and were vocal advocates of our work in the Q&A sessions.

Focus groups - Outpatients Outpatients focus groups provided the
opportunity for members to contribute to the review of outpatient services
The groups focused on improving our understanding of some of the outputs from an earlier survey of members on the same issue
Helped to refine the plans
Focus Groups - Reputation Three focus groups looked at prompted and
unprompted responses on the RD&E’s reputation and branding. Around 40 members of the Trust attended.
