Giza Systems Acquires VAS Integrated Solutions LLC (VIS), Bull Group’s Leading Storage Distributor and Integrator in the Egyptian Market

As the sole distributor for EMC in Egypt and Libya, VIS works with various esteemed partners and resellers to cater to the Egyptian and Libyan markets by offering them the most advanced portfolio of solutions.

"Giza Systems will support the continuous operations of VIS. Our strategy is one that relies on diversification of our holdings; while ensuring that VIS continues its operations as usual by operating as a sole distributor to its partners. VIS will not be approaching the end user as an integrator, rather it will be supporting its partners to take on this role," explained Osama Sorour, Chief Strategy Officer at Giza Systems. He added, "We believe that this strategy will be more efficient for leveraging the positive impact of the acquisition and will bring in more

business for all of our holdings by expanding the market through collective connections and partnerships."

Giza Systems, the leading systems integrator in Egypt and the Middle East, announces its acquisition of VAS Integrated Solutions LLC (VIS), Bull Group’s Egyptian subsidiary leader in storage integration and a key distributor for EMC, the market leader in virtualization and big data.

VAS Integrated Solutions, the subsidiary of Bull Group, is the leading storage distributor and integrator in the Egyptian market and operates in cloud enablement and virtualization space in Egypt and Libya. Its customers include all major players in the Egyptian telecommunications sector, banking industry and a strong presence in the Oil & Gas sector.

Giza Systems acquires from Bull all shares owned by the Group in VAS Integrated Solutions, representing 75% majority stake in VIS.

IG Signs Strategic Agreement with Giza Systems IG Solutions strengthens international position by increasing its presence in Egypt and the Middle East through a strategic alliance with Infor EAM to boost business development.

The Portuguese company IG Ibérica Business Solutions, that had recently announced its entry to the restricted group of Infor partners - Infor Partner Network, and the Egyptian company Giza Systems, a leading systems integrator in Egypt and the Middle East, have signed a collaboration agreement for the joined marketing of Infor EAM, the leading product in Enterprise asset management solutions.

This agreement is valid for Egypt and extends to countries where Giza Systems is present such as: Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

According to this agreement, both companies will work closely with Infor to create value for customers, by leveraging the synergies gained from combining their assets, whether it is software, services, or in-depth industry expertise.

HFGS Wins Jabal Omar Development Project, Phase 3, in Makkah Al Mukarramah Drake & Scull International contracted HF Giza Systems (HFGS) for the execution of Jabal Omar Development Project, Phase 3, as part of the expansion plan of the Haram of Makkah. The major project is planned to enable Makkah to accommodate more people in the Haram, especially during the Haj (pilgrimage) and Umrah periods.

Working alongside Drake & Scull International, in addition to its partnership with Edwards, a UTC Fire & Security Company, HFGS’s scope of work includes the design, engineering, supply, installations, programming and service of fire alarm and voice evacuation systems. The project is scheduled for completion in 2016.

"As part of a major governmental plan, this mega project is crucial in working towards optimizing safety measures at the Haram of Makkah," explained Sherif M. Ali, Chief Executive Officer for MENA at HFGS. Leveraging Giza Systems’ vast expertise in the telecom and oil and gas industries, Rashid Petroleum Company (RASHPETCO) awarded Giza Systems and its subsidiary, Giza Systems and Distribution (GSD), the Automatic Identification System (AIS) project. The project is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2015.

Partnering with GSD, Giza Systems has been contracted to design, supply and plan for the setup of the AIS system serving platforms in the Mediterranean Sea. As an integral part of the tracking and monitoring systems for the marine sector, based on IMO (International Maritime Organization) standards and mandates for large ships and open water, the AIS solution to be deployed will cover the various requirements for collision avoidance, vessel tracking, environmental concerns and communication of positional data for vessels and shore stations. "We are extremely proud to contribute with our technology to the economic growth and the coast security of Egypt. We look forward to bringing our expertise in integrated oil and gas solutions and our understanding of the technicalities involved in integrating them with existing infrastructures for the deployment of this solution," commented Mohamed Kandil, General Manager of Giza Systems and Distribution.

Considered as a standard part of offshore facility safety and security infrastructure, AIS enables operators to track and monitor vessels to allow for offshore surveillance and situational awareness, as well as communicate with platforms and vessels located in any area of open water. By identifying pertinent data regarding the identity, intentions, itinerary and cargo of the vessels, operators are able to attain enhanced visibility and transparency of vessel movements.

AIS is also crucial for safety and security purposes, as it utilized in search and rescue missions and provides early warning of safety, security and environmental threats. By generating data and intelligence, AIS transmits various aspects relating to positional and near-real time situational information such as exclusion zones, navigation hazards, and warning notices; thus serving as an alert to notify authorities of potential threats (e.g. oil spills), illegal activities (e.g. illegal dumping), and incidents (e.g. collisions).

The implementation of the new solution promises to enhance safety for the platforms and staff; a vital aspect for the oil and gas industry. The scope of work includes hardware and software installations and system configuration. The project also extends to ensuring integration of the solution with existing infrastructure, stabilization and testing.

FVC, Alcatel-Lucent and Giza Systems Hold Data Networking and Communication Solutions Seminar

Stepping up efforts to meet the continuous data networking and communication solutions demands in Egypt, Giza Systems hosted a seminar in cooperation with FVC – showcasing the latest Alcatel-Lucent offerings in the field. The seminar was held on 3rd September at Giza Systems’ premises, in New Cairo, Egypt.

The seminar aimed at helping customers understand the value proposition of the exhibited Alcatel-Lucent solutions, by highlighting the seminal approach of deploying a unified communication and networking solutions to enable cost effectiveness, while enhancing productivity. AFNCI and Giza Systems Hold Blood Drive for the Benefit of Cancer Patients

Continuing Giza Systems’ positive track record of corporate social responsibility, the company hosted a blood drive at its headquarters in New Cairo in August. The event took place from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. in collaboration with the Association of Friends of the National Cancer Institute (AFNCI).

"Giza Systems is constantly taking the initiative of organizing periodic blood drives, and we absolutely appreciate it, for the need for safe blood and blood products is continuous. We are always excited about holding drives at Giza Systems for we value such cooperation, and appreciate the enthusiasm we see there," said Sherif Mamdouh, Blood Donation Campaigns Team Leader at the AFNCI. He added, "The spirit of the employees coming to donate blood is always refreshing, for they understand the value of doing so, as well as the impact it has on cancer patients and the quality of their lives."

The blood donations collected by physicians from the Association of Friends of the National Cancer Institute (AFNCI) will benefit cancer patients at the National Cancer Institute (NCI). In order to ensure a sufficient blood supply for patients, an average of 8 drives per week need to be organized. Three people are helped by each pint of donated blood since the blood is divided into plasma, platelets and red blood cells.

"We are making an effort to take the values we adopt as an organization and put them into practice within the community. We constantly encourage and enable our people to make a contribution in terms of social responsibility," said Eman Quotb, Senior Corporate Communications Specialist at Giza Systems. She elaborated, "We

look forward to our next opportunity of hosting a blood drive, since it serves as a wonderful way for our community to give back to society." Giza Systems Supports Enactus Egypt in National Competition for 2014As a responsible corporate citizen, Giza Systems actively participates in societal projects that inspire change and drive innovation. Giza Systems’ support of Enactus Egypt in its national competition for 2014 demonstrates the Company’s commitment to encouraging the new generation to effect change in the community through their initiatives.

In the opening round of the competition, which was held at the Intercontinental City Stars in Cairo on the 7th of July, 32 university teams were evaluated by 77 judges, who had the difficult task of selecting the final round teams. The participating students designed and carried out several projects covering a wide range of subjects, from environmentally friendly initiatives to ways of improving the quality of life for people experiencing financial, health, or societal challenges.

The five teams who made it to the final round were Cairo University; Menofia University; Kafr El Sheikh University; the French University in Cairo and Suez University. The five finalists presented their projects to 44 of Egypt’s top business leaders. The team from the French University in Egypt took home the cup and will represent Egypt at Enactus World Cup in China, with Suez University as the first runner-up.

The event showcased some fresh ideas, and the judges were truly impressed with the teams’ body of work. The Washer by the French University team was one of the highlights at the competition. This particular project included a representation of a manual washing machine that the team invented and developed in order to

increase efficiency, decrease the health risks associated with hand laundering, and ensure hygienic practices, which would also improve environmental conditions such as water contamination. The machine reduces cost by 50% and requires 66% less time than washing clothes by hand. The team has partnered with a variety of distribution channels to promote and market the new product.

With a huge student delegation – 900 in total – there were still plenty of opportunities for each individual student to have a meaningful experience in addition to the competition.

Recognition awards were handed out as part of the event, including the UN Women Award, which recognized one team for their focus on women’s leadership and empowerment as a means of eliminating violence against women.

Students also had the chance to hear from three impressive keynote speakers who spoke about entrepreneurship and the importance of youth in the economic development of Egypt: Eng. Hesham El Amroussy, Chairman & Managing Director of ExxonMobil; Edward Marks, Managing Director of Barclays Bank; and Bruno Carre, CEO of Suez Cement.

Giza Systems set up a booth at the competition in order to provide the students with information about our business and our career opportunities. Other companies with booths at the competition included Barclays, ExxonMobil, CIB, Mobinil, and Suez Cement.

متاشيا مع فلسفتها يف مجال املسؤولية اإلجتامعية للرشكات، تشرتك جيزة سيستمز بنشاط يف

املشاريع املجتمعية التي تسعى إلستلهام التغيري وتنشيط االبتكار. وإستمرارا يف دعم إناكتس

مرص يف املسابقة الوطنية لعام ٢٠١٤، تهدف جيزة سيستمز إىل متكني الجيل الجديد يف املبادرات

الرامية إىل إحداث تغيري يف املجتمع.

يف الجزء األول من املسابقة، التي متت إستضافتها يف فندق إنرتكونتيننتال سيتي ستارز القاهرة

يف السابع من يوليو، تشارك ٣٢ فريقا ليتم تقييمهم من قبل لجنة تحكيم مكونة من ٧٧ عضوا،

لينتقوا بعناية الخمسة فرق النهائية. وقام الطلبة املشاركني يتصميم وتنفيذ العديد من املشاريع

التي تغطي مجموعة واسعة من املواضيع، كاملبادرات الصديقة للبيئة، وأفكار تحسني نوعية

الحياة لألشخاص ذوي التحديات سواء الصحية، أو املادية، أو املجتمعية.

ومع إشتداد املنافسة، وصلت خمسة فرق للدور النهايئ، وهم فرق جامعة القاهرة؛ وجامعة

املنوفية؛ وجامعة كفر الشيخ؛ والجامعة الفرنسية بالقاهرة؛ وجامعة السويس، وقدموا أفكارهم

يف القاعة الرئيسية أمام ٤٤ من رواد الصناعة واألعامل يف مرص. وفاز باملركز األول فريق الجامعة

الفرنسية بالقاهرة، كام جاء باملركز الثاين فريق جامعة السويس، لتمثيل مرص يف مسابقة إناكتس

لكأس العامل املقامة يف الصني.

وعرضت فعاليات املسابقة بعض األفكار الجديدة، وطرق عمل مبتكرة، مام أثار إعجاب قضاة

لجنة التحكيم. وكانت "الغسالة" من أبرز األفكار املشاركة، حيث قام فريق الجامعة الفرنسية

املرتبطة الصحية املخاطر وتقليل الكفاءة لزيادة عملية غسالة وتطوير بإبتكار بالقاهرة

تقليل البيئية عن طريق الظروف أجل تحسني باليد، وضامن مامرسات صحية من بالغسيل

تلوث املياه. وتقلل اآللة التكلفة بنسبة ٥٠٪ كام يتطلب إستخدامها وقتا أقل بنسبة ٦٦٪ من

غسل املالبس باليد. وسعى الفريق لتكوين رشاكات مع مجموعة متنوعة من قنوات التوزيع

لرتويج وتسويق املنتج الجديد.

وبالرغم من تواجد وفد طاليب ضخم يقدر بحوايل ٩٠٠ طالب وطالبة، كان هناك العديد من

الفرص لكل طالب عىل حدة ليكتسب خربات ذات معنى، وذلك باإلضافة إىل روح املنافسة.

كام كانت الفرصة مواتية للطالب لسامع ثالثة من أبرز املتحدثني الرئيسيني الذين تطرقوا إىل

املهندس هشام التنمية االقتصادية يف مرص، وهم الشباب يف مواضيع ريادة األعامل وأهمية

العمرويس، رئيس مجلس اإلدارة والعضو املنتدب لرشكة إكسون موبيل؛ وإدوارد ماركس، العضو

املنتدب لبنك باركليز مرص؛ وبرونو كاريه، الرئيس التنفيذي للسويس لألسمنت.

Giza Systems Celebrates with Injaz Egypt Reaching 106,000 Egyptian Students As collaboration continues between Giza Systems and Injaz Egypt, the corporate social responsibility partners celebrated another successful year reaching out to more Egyptian schools, benefiting over 106,000 students in different Egyptian governorates in 2014.

The program is targeted towards students from governmental schools and universities. It aims to prepare students for entering the workforce as qualified and skilled employees. Practical training and specialized curriculums are used to facilitate these goals. By raising awareness of subjects like finances, entrepreneurship, leadership, environmental issues, and personal life planning, volunteers help students gain life lessons, as well problem solving and communication skills.

The Injaz Volunteer Recognition Event took place on September 3rd, and Injaz Egypt recognized over 500 volunteers. After dinner and networking, a total of 22 companies were acknowledged for their volunteer efforts. Each volunteer received certificates from both Injaz Egypt and the United Nations for their time and effort.

"Injaz is built on a system that depends on volunteers in order to strive as a successful organization. Without their support, it would not be possible to reach a fraction of the students we are influencing today. Our volunteers are our most valuable asset and we appreciate their enthusiasm because none of this would be possible without them," stated Dina El Mofty, Executive Director for Injaz Egypt.

At the event, Injaz highlighted the importance of the valued corporate partnerships and thanked the volunteers for their time and efforts. It is through the dedication and commitment of the volunteers that Injaz is able to constantly broaden its scope, fulfilling its mission of empowering Egypt’s next generation.

"We believe that education is the most valuable investment anyone can make, and by volunteering and mentoring at schools and universities, we invest in students, with confidence that one day they’ll accomplish great things," stated Mohamed El Sayed, Brand and Events Specialist, and Giza Systems’ coordinator for INJAZ activities.

Giza Systems continues to support INJAZ by providing employee volunteers, who share their professional experiences and skills at local schools and universities. The company’s employees have volunteered to help teach subjects such as economics, entrepreneurship, leadership and personal life planning, helping students build their problem solving and communication skills.

"Back to School" with EcoChic

In an initiative to tackle the growing concern over the disposal of billboards in landfills and in order to spread awareness about the preservation of the environment, Giza Systems created the

"EcoChic" brand. The name for the brand was derived from the fashionable production of environmentally friendly commercial merchandise through the use of vinyl posters.

Products to be created from the vinyl billboards range from school bags and backpacks for school kids, to nifty iPAD and postman bags for more affluent

teenagers, umbrellas, sports bags, pencil cases, garbage bags, etc.

As housewives and disadvantaged women make these products, the initiative also enables them to generate additional income with positive ripple effect on jobs and skills development within

the community.

Springing from this initiative, Giza Systems Foundation (GSF) is launching the "Back to School" campaign targeting the recycling of billboards for the production of school bags for

underprivileged children. Thousands of bags are to be distributed to underprivileged students in marginalized areas in Cairo and Upper Egypt.

Determining and assessing the needs of marginalized students in the most impoverished Egyptian governorates is planned in cooperation and partnership with civil society institutions such as Misr

El Kheir.

To introduce the campaign to the public and rally support for the initiative, GSF has raised awareness through approaching key organizations; developing partnerships with associations; increasing

its presence through various art galleries, craft-markets, cultural centers, and events; and launching internal campaigns to employees in Giza Systems.

By approaching a number of organizations, GSF was able to gain the support of major companies including Jotun Paints and Virgin Megastore for the donation of their billboards as contribution for the production of bags.

As for increasing its presence, GSF has participated in many art galleries and craft-markets to showcase product prototypes and to gain visitor feedback for the development of the final products.

The Foundation has also participated in the first environmental exhibition organized by students of the American International School in Egypt in collaboration with the British School in Cairo. A large number of associations working towards environmental and recycling initiatives attended the event.

The ceremony began with a speech from the former Minister of the Environment, Laila Iskandar, addressing the efforts expended by the Ministry of Environment, as well as the various partnership opportunities available for Egyptian associations in the field of environmental conservation and recycling.

The ceremony was followed by a fashion show, where the students modelled clothes made of recycled materials, as well as showcased bags produced by GSF.

The Foundation also participated in an art exhibition organized by Darb 1718 cultural center, in El Fakhareen village of Old Cairo, alongside many associations and organizations interested in the field of recycling waste like plastic, paper, glass, tires, etc.

In the same context, GSF approached "Educate Me", an educational center at the Omraneyah church area, to hold training workshops for children enrolled in the center between the ages of six and nine years. The workshops introduced the children to the concept of taking advantage of waste by recycling and repurposing it in manufacturing. This concept was also presented to different local communities, as a way of introducing the practical applications for recycling in various geographic areas as means for combatting waste.

The "Back to School" internal campaign organized by GSF for Giza Systems was two-fold. It targeted raising funds to cover the production of 3,500 school bags. In order to accomplish this feat, on

the one hand, Giza Systems announced that it would match funds contributed by employees, by donating double the amount that was originally paid. On the other hand, GSF organized a charity sale event for Giza Systems employees, where the products met with strong demand for their quality and attractive designs.

Giza Arabia was awarded the Interconnect Billing Managed Services for Saudi Telecom Company (STC), the largest telecommunication services provider in the Middle East and North Africa, as well as the leading operator within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The project is set for completion in the first quarter of 2017.

The investment in the Interconnect Billing Managed Services will enable STC to optimize the value of their network through a highly comprehensive and integrated platform that allows for cost efficiency, strategic and effective partner management, and accurate billing and settlement. In addition, it will support a diverse range of services, multi-party settlements and business models.

Giza Systems was recently awarded the project for the upgrade of SCADA Systems for the benefit of Jordanian Egyptian FAJR for Natural Gas Transmission & Supply Company. The project is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2014.

In its continuous efforts to provide the most cutting-edge solutions, Giza Systems is deploying the latest upgrade to the network servers for the enhancement of Fajr’s network infrastructure. The upgrade will enhance the capabilities of the servers for the SCADA system, covering the entire pipeline network, to ensure reliability and integrity of data for the monitoring and control of operations.

"With the completion of this project serving the Fajr gas pipeline network across Jordan, Giza Systems will have significantly expanded its footprint in this field," stated Mohamed Sedeek, Chief Operations Officer at Giza Systems. Having worked with Fajr previously on implementing flow control modules on the installed SCADA system to monitor and control the hourly gas flow rate for each gas customer provides Giza Systems with an in-depth understanding of the system in place, as well as insight into the client’s needs in terms of reliability, scalability and efficiency of operations.

The SCADA servers upgrade will enhance systems reliability resulting in dramatic reductions in the time, effort and cost of integration for Fajr operations. In addition, it will promote easy application creation; ongoing maintenance across remote facilities; and substantial increase in the reliability, dependability and stability of the system. The scalability of the new upgrade affords future expansions to the network and facilitates the integration of new technologies.

Jordanian Egyptian FAJR Company began operating in December 2003, when the founding partners decided to establish a company for transporting and exporting Natural Gas. It is currently registered as a limited liability company, pursuant to the Jordanian Companies Law Number (22) and its amendments. Jordanian Egyptian FAJR both implements and operates the second phase of the Arab gas pipeline within the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the Jordanian Syrian borders, using the Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) scheme for 30 years extendable for 10 more years.

The company earned the certifications by demonstrating their ability to apply the established Integrated Management System (IMS), which combines all related components of a business into one system for easier management and operations. Quality (QMS), Environmental

(EMS), and Safety (OHSMS) management systems are often combined and managed as an IMS.
