Pastor’s Message 19th Sunday in Ordinary

Time Peter got out of the boat and began to walk on

the water toward Jesus. But when he saw how strong the wind was he became frightened; and, beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!”

Mt. 14:29-30 We often identify Thomas as “the doubting

Apostle, but in today’s Gospel we see that Peter also doubted. That image of Peter sinking in the water can be very real for us. We’ve likely had

that same sinking sensation when adversity enters our own lives. Like Peter, we can cry out, “Lord

save me! We know what it’s like to make that cry; we should also know what it means to respond to another’s cry of the same. (from Daily Homilies for

Sunday and Weekday Masses, Lansing, MI 48906) Many medical frontliners during these COVID 19 plague may have hear patients’ words similar to

Peter’s in today’s gospel: “Please save me, Doc…” “Make me live, Nurse…” Whether the

patient lives or dies, the frontliner can only thank the Lord for giving him/her opportunity to serve a

fellow human being made in the image of God. Given the protest marches in the past few weeks, we can also imagine the police officers, innocent civilian bystanders and business owners praying

“Lord, save me” from a rioting mob. My prayer is that these people, in the midst of the noise and confusion may hear that “tiny whispering sound

of God (1Kgs 19:12)giving them peace. My wish is for us to be always there for each other

and to keep one another from sinking into the waters of doubt and despair. St. Faustina, pray for

us!

Mensaje del Pastor 19 Domingo del Tiempo

Ordinario Pedro se bajó de la barca y comenzó a caminar sobre el

agua hacia Jesús. Pero cuando vió lo fuerte que era el

viento se asustó; y, empezando a hundirse, gritó:

"¡Señor, sálvame!" (Mt. 14:29-30)

A menudo identificamos a Tomás como "el Apóstol dudoso", pero en el Evangelio de hoy vemos que Pedro también dudaba. Esa imagen de Pedro hundiéndose en el agua puede ser muy real para nosotros. Probablemente hemos tenido la misma sensación de hundimiento cuando la adversidad entra en nuestras propias vidas. Al igual que Pedro, podemos gritar: "¡Señor sálvame!": Sabemos lo que significa ese llanto; también debemos saber lo que significa responder al grito semejante de otro. (de Las homilías diarias para las misas dominicales y entre semana, Lansing, MI 48906) Muchos frentes médicos durante estas plagas covid19 pueden haber escuchado palabras similares de pacientes a las de Pedro en el evangelio de hoy: "Por favor, sálvame, Doc... "Hazme vivir, Enfermera..." Ya sea que el paciente viva o muera, el líder sólo puede agradecer al Señor por darle la oportunidad de servir a un ser humano hecho a imagen de Dios. Dadas las marchas de protesta en las últimas semanas, también podemos imaginar a los oficiales de policía, a los transeúntes civiles inocentes y a los dueños de negocios rezando "Señor, sálvame" de la turba . Mi oración es que estas personas, en medio del ruido y la confusión, oigan ese 'pequeño sonido susurrante de Dios' (1 Reyes 19:12) dándoles paz. Mi deseo es que estemos siempre ahí el uno para el otro y que nos impidamos hundirnos en las aguas de la duda o la desesperación. ¡Santa Faustina, reza por nosotros! Porque podría desear que yo mismo fuera maldito

y separado de Cristo por el bien de mi propio

pueblo, mi pariente según la carne. (Rom 9:3)

St. Faustina Future Home

A brief history . . .

1995 - The Diocese of Orlando acquired

the Boggy Marsh Road property.

2006 - Bishop Thomas Wenski established

a Catholic parish in the Four Corners

area of Central Florida.

September 30, 2006 - The first Mass for

St. Faustina was held in the banquet

room of the West Gate Inn.

Christmas Eve, 2006 - The parish of St.

Faustina was in a new home in the for-

mer Homer’s Bar-B-Q Restaurant.

2007 - The parish launched an ambitious

Alive in Christ campaign. The inten-

tion was to raise funds to (1) restore a

prefabricated building called Armstrong

Hall and (2) construct a permanent

building known as the Mercy Cen-

ter. Neither of these goals came to frui-

tion.

Christmas Eve, 2010 - The parish relocated

to a strip mall at 9310 US Hwy 192.

December 2015- The parish relocated to its

present location.

Present - The current plan under develop-

ment is to construct a multipurpose

building on the Boggy Marsh Road

property that will house worship, meet-

ing, and office space.
