What is natural sugar?
Foods naturally contain sugar, along with vitamins, minerals and fiber.
What foods contain natural sugars?
Fruits, vegetables
What is added sugar?
Sugar is added to the food and does not occur naturally
What foods have added sugar? Soda, Chocolate milk, Ice cream , Lemonade, Candy, Cupcakes, Cake.
What you might not know
The number one source of added sugar in our diets is soda!!!!
2/3 of children between the ages of 2-19 are overweight. For each additional soda a child drinks it increases their risk of obesity by 60%
What does eating too much sugar do to you?
It makes you feel like you are running a race or just like this race car right?
This is how you feel when the extra sugar wears off??? I bet you feel tired and sleepy
How much added sugar do you think the average American eats a year? Almost 100 pounds a year!!!! That equals almost ¼ pound a day (1/4 lb = 28 teaspoons)
