On Wednesday 6 and Thursday 7/12, we had the pleasure of welcoming a group of twenty parents, from kindergarten to diploma, for a training on Positive Discipline. We thank very warmly Mrs. Yasmine Hashaad and Mrs. Heba Kamel, parents at the school and "Certi�ed

Positive Discipline Parents Educators" who participated for the �rst time in the animation of a Positive Discipline training for parents.

New training sessions will be organized after the Christmas holidays. You will be noti�ed on the account to parents.

PROGRAMME D’ÉDUCATIONINTERMÉDIAIRERS

As part of our unit of inquiry 'how to make friends?', and to mark the transition to our new 'food' unit, the four KG1 classes organized cooking workshops.

Each class received students from di�erent classes and made a recipe together. They were then able to share their dishes (donuts, fruit and vegetable salads, croque monsieurs and pancakes). During these workshops, students had the opportunity to apply the learned skills: cooperation, empathy,

tolerance and respect. They could be communicators and caring.

During the 2nd unit “Where we are in space and time”, the P1 students discovered objects from the past, they learned how the ancients measured time using the sundial. At any moment of the day, the students put a mark where the shadow of the stick is: it shows the time throughout the day!

In order to understand the impact of the inventions in the Ancient civilization of Egypt, the P4 students went to the Pharaonic village. They visited several museums including the treasures of Tutankhamen.

It was a nice day combining walks and cultural discoveries.

Adventure learning

As part of the adventure learning, the P4 students have set a garden space.The seeds have started growing and some shoots are already measuring ten centimeters.

Gardening is a fun activity that arouses students’ curiosity.During break time, all the students are attracted by it and the P1 are very happy.

Dab-Doub

Dab-Doub continues his adventure near Nantes. He learned Judo with Mathis and studied "Little Red Riding Hood" in French with his friends.

Then he went to the movies with Victor.The �rst snow�akes began to fall...

What a lovely holiday ... our friend is so lucky!

ADVENTURE LEARNING

As part of the 2nd unit of inquiry, whose main theme is "throughout time, discoveries and explora-tions had an impact on individuals and on communities", the P3 students visited the elder people in

a nursing home. Students brought gifts for them, and asked them questions about their lives through the years. In this trip the students were risk-takers and respectful towards their elders.

DEBATE BE T WEEN RELIGION AND PHILOSOPHY

C3 students organized debates that express the complicated relationship between religion, science and philosophy in the 18th century on the eve of the French Revolution. They used the knowledge

acquired during the �rst unit of History, which explores the concept of "Change". The students presented this debate in the form of theater, or comics according to their choices.

As part of their science and religion unit, the C2 visited the Islamic Museum. Students linked what they learned in the novel Kandil Oum Hashem with the Islamic monument.

Oasis International School Announces the 'Read a Thousand Books' contest in Science, Literature, History, Art, and Travel From 28 -11- 2017 to 15-4-2018.

Contest conditions:1 - The student reads two books of his choice in each area2 - Summarize the manuscript by clarifying information from the books3 - Publish the knowledge to ten renewed people with each book

Evaluation:• Written: A summary of books in Arabic language• Oral: A discussion on one of the books read by the student orally in Arabic language for those who had a high grade in the written summary

Last Wednesday, a l l D1 students gathered in the spec tacle room to do a pooled TEC. The TEC star ted with the usual thanks and then the students got up to star t an ac t iv i t y. The latter i s to each student wr i te a message of encouragement on a paper and then crum-ple into smal l bal ls . Once the music star ts , ever yone throws the bal l at another student who, in turn, opens the paper when the music stops to read the message. This ac t iv i t y

was repeated s ix or seven t imes to read the maximum motivat ing messages

Our school received the representative of the Catholic School of Arts and Crafts Lyon 'ECAM', Monday, Decem-ber 4th. Contrary to the perception about the institution, specialized in engineer, Mr. Sokolski could explain that ECAM Lyon proposes studies trilingual, general engineering as well as studies totally taught in English.

The presentation also detailed the courses o�ered, the equivalences of diplomas, the costs of studies, intern-ships and partners, as well as the course of the Master and professional.

The students present were very happy to meet Mr. Sokolski and ask several questions about admission, and he stated that the IB pro�le is the most requested and among the best degrees for students who adapt to the

studies in his institution.
