Reading Workshop:-Making Text-to-Self Connections and thinking about schema: Roller Coaster, The Relatives Came
Writing Workshop/Word Study:-October Letters-Personal narrative: writing goals, touch/tell/sketch, 5 W’s, verbs
Math Workshop:-addition and subtraction assessments-Finding patterns in quilts-estimation
If you are looking for something to practice at home:-See if your students can tell you different ways to split a number into 2 parts, for example: 6 can be split into the parts 3 and 3, 6 and 0, 1 and 5, 2 and 4.-Once they have split a whole into parts ask them to make an addition (or subtraction) number sentence using those numbers.-Prodigy
Content : -The Sun: seed and temperature observations, fact writing, energy transfer-Next week we will start our study of Past and Present
