With the aim of understanding and appreciating the
elements of our 'oneness in humanity', and the beauty of
individual traditions, inter-state artist Christine Harrison
presents a culmination of on-site work developed with
international indigenous cultures to the end of 2011.
This exhibition showcases significant landmarks and
'evolving' vistas from around the artists' homelands in
coastal and rural Central Queensland. Dichotomy of Place
invites audiences to contemplate the artworks as windows
into this changing landscape. Artslink Queensland's Exhibition Touring Program brings quality visual arts into regional and remote areas, supporting Queensland artists and communities in celebrating their creativity and diversity.
Inspired by the calligraphic line
practiced by artist Ian
Fairweather who produced most
of his paintings while living on
Bribie Island, this exhibition by
Joe Furlonger, Pamela See and
Jun Chen explores notions of
trans-cultural expression.Toured by Moreton Bay Regional Council.
A highly technical exhibition
showcasing the fusion of art and
science by The Noosa Botanical Art
Group, displaying an eclectic mix of
artworks that focus on the essence of
the plant in watercolour and a variety
of other media.
