DESCRIPTION: Italian wine and food seem like a birthright: you can taste your whole life. Tondo Tondo, I’ve thought many times, as I pushed back my chair from the table. A Tuscan feast centers on the ancient triumvirate: the vine, the olive tree, and wheat. Maybe that’s why it feels so deeply connected to the earth. Tondo tondo, a dialect expression, signifies Just Perfect, what you say over and over.

APPELLATION: Toscana I.G.T. Rosso

VINIFICATION: Aged in stainless steel with fermentation temperature control system 28-30’C. Maceration period is 12-15 days, with four daily pumpings and manual punching to increase the release of substances from the skins.

TASTING NOTES: The color is bright red, with a broad, intense and fruity nose. On the palate Tondo Tondo has hints of ripe red berry, cherry and floral tones that are slightly herbaceous. It is harmonious and well balanced, with a distinctly Tuscan taste - a wonderful wine for sharing!

SERVING SUGGESTIONS: Tondo Tondo pairs well with pecorino cheese, ham, roasts, game, grilled meat, beans, and soups.

100% Sangiovese

Country of Production: Italy Alcohol: 13% Vol -

100% Sangiovese

ABOUT FRANCES MAYES: Frances Mayes is a cook, designer, and author of seven books on Tuscany, including her best-known work Under the Tuscan Sun. The book, published by Random House,

was a New York Times bestseller for more than two and a half years. It was made into a film in 2003.

Wine is so intrinsic to Italian culture, and Frances has always dreamed of introducing a line of wines to match her Tuscan Sun lifestyle. She often finds that the vino da tavola - the table wine - at her favorite trattorias is some of the best in

Tuscany. Frances set out to bring this casual, beautiful, every-day expression of wine to her fans. With Frances personally selecting the house wines from her favorite Tuscan restaurants, the lineup of Tuscan Sun wines was born. The labels are original paintings inspired by Frances’s favorite places in and around her famous villa, Bramasole.
