Dear West Boca Family: A big THANK YOU to all staff, students and parents that made the PSAT a HUGE success! CONGRATULATIONS to Skye Demordo for qualifying for the Girls Golf REGIONAL Tournament. Skye is one of only 3 individual golfers to qualify for Regionals on Tuesday at Eagle Trace.

Shout out to our West Boca Debate Team for showing up in force to last weekend's Wellington High School Debate Tournament! A special congratulations to Colby Feibus who placed 1st in Original Oratory and David Knight who took home 3rd in Congressional Debate. Great job Debate-a- Bulls! Later this month, our Debate-a-Bulls will be heading up to the University of Florida for the interstate Blue Key Debate Tournament. Let's go Bulls!

Sandpiper’s Fall Dance Volunteers needed for Sandpiper Shores. Event held at W. Boca High. Oct 25, friday. Volunteers needed for all shifts between 4pm and 10pm. If you are interested in any of our academy programs at West Boca High, come visit us at the Showcase of Schools on October 22nd. The flyer below gives additional information. If you cannot make it to the Showcase of Schools on October 22nd, we will hold our own Academy Open House on November 19th from 6PM to 8PM at West Boca High School. Remember, in order to join ANY Academy at West Boca High, an online application must be submitted prior to the deadline which is December 13th for Performing Arts and January 24th for the other academies. Students who are West Boca students do not automatically receive admission to Academy Programs . They must apply and receive a seat through the lottery system. 1. Dropping off Material/Items for a Student After 8:00am All materials that need to be dropped off for a student after 8:00 am will be collected at the main gate by the school personnel. Please make sure the item can be visible for the school personnel to check. Clearly mark the student's name on the item(s) being dropped off. The items will be placed in a container and delivered to student service for the student to pick up. Please text the student that you dropped the item off and let them know it will be in student services. After dropping off the item, you will be directed around the front barricades to the exit side to depart. 2. Students Leaving Campus. Parents will not come on campus to sign a student out of school. There are 2 ways to sign a student out of school:
1. Call student service at 561-672-2029 and give the information to the secretary.
They will get a pass to the student. It is advised that you call ahead so you do not have to wait. 2. Send a note to school with the student. The student will bring the note to Student Service before school starts to get a pass that will allow them to leave campus at the time indicated on the note.
Your help in implementing these procedures is appreciated. WBRHS SCHOOL WEBSITE: wbrh.palmbeachschools.org Passwords: All teachers can reset student passwords. All student logins are student ID with an “s” in front (ex: s12345678) and passwords are the same as their current password from any school in the county. NEW students to the DISTRICT use the following password - last 4 digits of ID, Initials capitalized, and 2 digit birth year (ex: 4567HP01) Please make sure to reset passwords on all of your accounts on a regular basis. Suggested criteria is 8 digits, capital, lowercase, number and symbol.
Want to celebrate your child’s birthday at school? For only $25 your child’s name will be placed on the school marquee for their actual birthday date. Go to wbrh.palmbeachschools.org to download and fill out the Birthday Form. Hand in form with a $25 check made out to WBRHS or cash to the front office at least 2 weeks in advance or at https://palmbeach.schoolcashonline.com/ . ______________ GUIDANCE______________ Pathfinder Scholarship Nomination Information:
The nomination process for Pathfinders has begun. Students may self-nominate for up to three of the 18 categories. Nomination packet directions may be picked up in the guidance department or from Ms. Mochel. The letter explains the process, but more detailed information will be provided during the senior meeting and counselor presentations in English classes, or you may stop by to ask Ms. Mochel during lunch. The deadline for completed packets to be considered for the nomination is November 7 th .

Grad Coach: Jason Cohen This year, at West Boca High, we are expanding the mental health services to include support groups for students. We are starting with four groups, supporting students who have a serious
illness in the family, are grieving, are struggling with anxiety, and help with anger management. These groups are voluntary and fairly informal. Attached is the flyer with the schedule for the groups. We will meet at lunch time in the Calaloo Cafe. For more information, contact Ms Townsend.

On Halloween wear your best costume inspired by a literary character from a comic book, novel, manga, etc. Make sure to stop by the media center to sign up and for more specific rules. Any sophomores, juniors and seniors that need IDs, please stop by the media center. Freshmen, you will take your IDs with your English classes. The makerspace will be open every Monday during lunch in room 4104 off of the media center. All are welcome to attend and our first activities will be 3D printing and soldering. See you there!

Junior and senior students, Please review the new procedures regarding college visit presentations: 1. Sign up in guidance with Ms. Lorie. She will have the college visit binder. 2. See your school counselor to get a pass to attend the presentation. 3. Take a picture of your pass. A second pass will not be issued if lost and students will not be able to attend without a pass. 4. The last day to sign up for the presentations is the day before the college visit. Students cannot sign up the day of the presentation and will not be able to attend the presentation. Presentations are scheduled to be no longer than one hour. All students are to report back to their class after that presentation has concluded.
___________SAC MEETINGS_____________ The 2019-2020 School Advisory Committee (SAC) will meet on the dates listed below from 6-8 PM in the media center. SAC members are an integral part of our school's community and everyone is invited to attend these meetings.
