AV Mode of the

FOXTEL iQ2 Remote

Pressing the av button on the FOXTEL iQ2 remote allows:

È The FOXTEL iQ2 to route the input from the VCR SCART connector on the back

of the FOXTEL iQ2 to the output of the primary or TV SCART.

In practice this means your VCR (or DVD Recorder) should be connected tothe VCR SCART connector on the FOXTEL iQ2. Pressing the av button displaysthe VCR’s output on the television. If nothing is connected to the VCR SCARTon the FOXTEL iQ2 then pressing the av button on the FOXTEL iQ2 Remoteblanks the television screen

È In AV mode the FOXTEL iQ2 Remote buttons are disabled unless it has been

programmed as shown in this guide (in which case it will controlyour television’s or other device’s functions)

To identify which of the two SCART connectors is the VCR SCART look at theback of the FOXTEL iQ2, the VCR SCART will be the left SCARTconnector and marked VCR SCART.

Using the av button with

a loop-through device

You may wish to connect more items of equipment to your television than yourtelevision has connectors to support (for example, the FOXTEL iQ2, plus a VCR,DVD player and/or games console). In this circumstance the FOXTEL iQ2 can actas an AV switcher allowing the television connector used by the FOXTEL iQ2 to

be shared with another item of equipment. This item is referred to as the‘loop-through device’ as it is connected to the VCR SCART connector at the backof the FOXTEL iQ2 rather than directly to the television (see diagram on previ-ous page). Usually this device is the VCR.

If you have a ‘loop-through device’ you use the av button on the FOXTEL iQ2Remote to switch between the FOXTEL service and the loop-through device.

1. To switch to the looped-through device, press the av button on the FOXTEL

iQ2 Remote.

Once you have pressed the av button, all the buttons on the FOXTEL iQ2Remote are disabled (unless it has been programmed as shown in this Guide,in which case it will control your television's functions or other device’s), exceptFOXTEL and the FOXTEL Guide buttons (tv guide, on demand, active andplanner)

2. To return to FOXTEL, press FOXTEL (or any of the FOXTEL Guide buttons)

- If you want to use the ‘loop-through’ facility, your television must be connected to the TV SCART connector on the FOXTEL iQ2 while the loop-through unit (e.g. VCR) must be connected to the VCR SCART connector on the FOXTEL iQ2 and the Video Output for the iQ2 must be set to PAL

- If your setup does not include a looped-through device, then when you

press the av button on the FOXTEL iQ2 Remote, your television will display a blank screen when the av button is pressed. To return to FOXTEL press the FOXTEL button

- The AV switching function of the FOXTEL iQ2 switches audio and composite video only.

- Loop-through routes the VCR SCART input through to the TV SCART output.

Loop-through does not affect the HDMI or HD Component outputs
