Concept: Make it easy for NPSS conference organizers to get information / questions answered

Difficult to read / understand / maintain a detailed manual

Conference Branding Ad Hoc:Survey Performed – 668 Responses
Website is Critical – attendees get virtually all their information from the conference web site
Conference name is not important when deciding whether to attend a conference
Minimal attendee confusion on sponsorship (~5% misunderstood who sponsor was and cared)
Having IEEE involved was very important
– Type of involvement (financial or TCS) was unimportant
– Sponsoring IEEE OU somewhat important (50% didn’t care, 50% did care)
8 Wanted Data to Guide Next StepsWanted Data to Guide Next Steps
Main Opportunity:Improve Web Sites
Surveyed web sites for ~25 IEEE conferences
Tremendous variation across IEEE conferences(Some do very good job, some have “opportunities”)
Provide complete information in consistent format(Title, acronym, dates, logos, sponsorship, publication,…)
Say “Who should attend?” & “What will I learn?”
Distinguish “Sponsors” from “Patrons”
Use of templates strongly encouraged (see MTT)
Different template for financial & TCS?
