I am the proud principal of Kronendal Primary School, the school in the heart of Hout Bay with Hout Bay in its heart. It is our wish to develop the future leaders of our country by teaching them to become the best people that they can be in every sphere of their lives. We mould, shape and teach our learners to become strong, thinking, independent, moral citizens who can make a meaningful contribution to our community.

We use our LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE slogan to teach our children the values we want them to adopt. We believe that every child that enters the doors of Kronen-dal will become a beacon of light wherever they find themselves. They are encour-aged to be the change they want to see in the world.

Our educational philosophy is grounded in the belief that the success of our school, community and ultimately our country relies on the success of our children. We strive to provide a safe, nurturing environment in which each child can develop his/her potential. In order to achieve this we rely on the input and expertise of our dynamic and hardworking staff as well as the involvement of our parents. Our teachers ensure that our learners are motivated, inspired and ready to learn. We ensure that no child is left behind by offering support in the classroom and via our Victor Centre which is geared to provide specialist intervention, thereby ensuring every child can realize their potential. Our parents make sure that our school is financially and administratively sustainable.

This brochure and the auction is testament to the hardworking and dedicated par-ents that we are blessed to have. It is with their support that we are able to reach the many goals we set for ourselves. We would therefore appreciate your support in making this venture a success.

Catherine Christie, daughter of Kitch Christie (famous Springbok Coach, Rugby World Cup 1995) and now a cele-brated South african abstract artist opened her 5th owner-run gallery in 2006. Shortly thereafter Catherine received her first “Women of the Year” nomination for her endeav-ours in arts and Culture. The CaTHERINE CHRISTIE SIG-NaTURE GaLLERY was dubbed one of the most beautiful privately owned galleries in the Southern Hemisphere.

However behind the glitz and glamour stands one of the most courageous and persistent entrepreneurs to have graced the arts and Business sectors of this country.above all else, it has to be said that Catherine is a philan-thropist and believes strongly in the well-being of all. She has never turned her back on a charity needing a work of art to be donated; hundreds have been supported by her and undoubtedly will be in the future.
