Shop Drawing Review Process

1. Log submittal with office clerk. Office clerk inputs job into “TES Shop Drawing Log” program.

2. Office Clerk scans drawings and places scan under shop drawing directory with received date, then returns drawings to reviewer.

3. Shop drawings must be processed within 5 business days

Shop Drawing Review Process

1. Reviewer checks a hard copy against relevant construction documents.

2. TES is not responsible for means and methods.

3. Shop drawings received that were not specified to be submitted for review should be marked “not reviewed” on commentary submittal sheet.

4. Highlight conformance, mark red differences in red.

5. Discuss differences with PM and whether they are acceptable

Shop Drawing Review Process

Check Conformance with design concept and the information shown

in the construction documents.

Do Not Check Accuracy or completeness of details, such as quantities,

dimensions, weights or gauges, fabrication processes, construction means or methods, coordination of the work with other trades or construction safety precautions, all of which are the sole responsibility of the contractor.

Shop Drawing Review Process

1. After PM review, complete Shop Drawing Review Form to be sent back with shop drawings.

2. PM performs final review of shop drawing review form, corrections made, PM signs.

3. Review form copy sent with each copy of shop drawing being sent back (pdf if sent electronically).

4. Transmittal filled out and attached.

5. Inform OC of completion.

• Purpose of submittals is to demonstrate the way by which the contractor proposes to conform to the design concept.

• Contractor has reviewed and approved submittals.

• Submittals are required to do the work.
