nhilde de Jager is 'n negejarige dogtertjie met 'n ernstige tot totale gehoorverlies. Sy is die oudste kind A

van drie, sy het 'n sussie wat 8 jaar oud is en 'n boetie van 2 jaar. Sy bly tans saam met haar mamma, sussie en boetie. Haar mamma werk by 'n kleuterskool en haar pappa is werkloos. Finansies is dus 'n krisis.Anhilde is op 32 weke gebore met 'n hartdefek in 'n provinsiale hospitaal. Sy het nie ekstra suurstof of enige ekstra sorg ontvang vir die feit dat sy prematuur gebore is nie. Daar is op 15 maande vasgestel dat sy 'n hartdefek het sedert geboorte. Die oorsaak van haar gehoorverlies is onbekend. Daar word

vermoed dat dit moontlik kan wees as gevolg van premature geboorte, gebrek aan suurstof, medikasie gebruik vir haar hartdefek Sy het 'n hartoperasie ondergaan op 18 maande en sedertdien drink sy daagliks bloeddrukpille. Anhilde het haar eerste stel gehoorapparate gekry toe sy 2 jaar oud was en dra sedertdien gehoorapparate. In Julie 2013, is sy gepas met nuwe Oticon gehoorapparate en 'n FM sisteem. Haar gehoor het egter verder verswak en sy sukkel toenemend met haar skoolwerk. Veral ook met Engels as 2de taal. Sy is tans in graad 3, in 'n klein hoofstroom skool. Alhoewel sy toegewyd is om haar graad 3 werk te bemeester het die onderwyseres alreeds aangedui dat Anhilde nie bevorder kan word na graad 4 nie. Graad 4 behels 'n totale verandering in hul skool roetine. In graad 4 begin hul klasse wissel, eksamen skryf, die hoeveelheid vakke en leerinhoud neem toe. Dit alles gaan nie net 'n uitdaging wees vir Anhilde nie maar ook 'n massiewe las plaas op haar reeds beperkte vermo¸ om te kompenseer vir haar gehoorverlies.Wat hartverskeurend is van Anhilde se situasie is dat sy geen verstandelike gestremdheid het nie en toegewyd is, maar sy gaan graad 3 moet herhaal as gevolg van haar gehoorverlies. Emosioneel gaan dit vir haar baie swaar wees veral omdat sy dan saam met haar sussie in Graad 3 gaan wees (wat in ouderdom net 'n jaar jonger is). Sy het alreeds so baie uitgestyg bo haar omstandighede en ten spyte van haar gehoorverlies probeer sy by bly met al die akademiese werk van Graad 3.Ons het begin besef dat die enigste oplossing 'n kogleêre inplanting is. Lydenburg gemeenskap het saamgestaan en geld is ingesamel sodat sy die nodige evaluasies kon ondergaan om te

bepaal of sy 'n geskikte kandidaat is vir 'n kogleêre inplanting.Sy het ook 'n kardioloog in Nelspruit besoek. Hy het bevind dat die gaatjie in haar hart herstel het maar die vernouing in haar aorta is besig om terug te keer. 'n Hartoperasie in die toekoms is dus onvermydelik. Die kardioloog het bevestig dat haar hart, ten spyte van die vernouing in die aorta, die kogleêre inplanting operasie sal kan hanteer.Sy het die hele kogleêre span besoek, wat insluit die Oor, Neus en Keel spesialis (Dr. Anton Smit), Oudioloog (Nicolize Cass), Spraak te rapeut (Kar in Weinmann) , Sielkundige (Tania van Huyssteen). Daar is ook 'n MR en CT scan gedoen.Na deeglike ondersoek is almal dit eens dat sy 'n perfekte kandidaat is vir 'n kogleere inplanting. Ek herhaal graag hul woorde: “hierdie kind gaan vlieg as sy net 'n kogleêre inplanting kan kry”.Die harde werklikheid is dat die kostes vir 'n kogleêre inplanting R350 000 tot R400 000 is. Die familie kan dit nie bekostig. En as gevolg van hul finansi¸le posisie behoort hul ook nie aan 'n mediese fonds nie. Daar is reeds 'n rekening vir haar oopgemaak waarin donasies gedeponeer kan word. Hierdie rekening word deur 'n onafhanklike persoon bestuur. Die familie het geen toegang tot die rekening nie. Hierdie rekening sal op gereelde basis geoudit word. State kan te enige tyd aangevra word. Ons nederige versoek is vir finansi¸le hulp om hierdie kogleêre inplanting 'n realiteit vir haar te maak! Hierdie inplanting sal 'n nuwe wêreld van klank en geluide vir haar oopsluit wat sy tans glad nie beleef nie. Nie net sal dit dan vir haar moontlik wees om sonder enige beperkings te fokus op haar akademiese werk nie maar haar selfvertroue sal ook toeneem en enige gevoelens van onbevoegdheid of mislukking sal uit die weg geruim word.Indien u enige vrae het of verdere inligting verlang kontak my gerus! aan ons geleen is om 'n stukkie hemel op ons aarde te kom wees, het besluit om op 5 April 2016 p e r m a n e n t b y ABBA in sy glorie te bly.Maar nou is sy een van die grootste, mooiste, helderste,

sterre in God se hemelruim!Psalm 19:1 – As jy opkyk na die hemel, sien jy hoe die ruimtes daarbo God se grootheid uitstraal. Sy eer is oral in die lug opgeteken. In die blou hemelruim sien jy hoe mooi God se handewerk alles rondom ons versier.Mag ons opkyk en herinner word aan Spreuke 31: ..vrou, liefde-Mamma, omgee-dogter, engel-sussie en gees-vriendin wat sy vir ons almal was…en mag Estée se ster nog lank in ons harte bly voortleef!Lydenburg se gemeenskap, ons salueer jou vir jou omgee, liefde en gebed oor die laaste 13 maande en veral die laaste vier weke. Daar was ontelbaar baie gebede, kos met elke ete tot oorlopens vol. Ons was bederf met soveel blomme dat ons huis soos 'n egte Namakwalandblommeveld gelyk het. Ons het die liefde van ons gemeenskap tasbaar ondervind. Ons vertroue in ons medemens se liefde en omgee is só gevestig. Ons gebed vir Lydenburg is dat die gebede en omgee-liefde net sal groei.Dit moet verrys dat elke mens in Lydenburg sal weet dat ons 'n omgee-dorp is. En nie een van 'lyding' is, soos wanneer die dorpsnaam letterlik opgeneem word nie.

ESKOM reached agreements with 3 municipalities, suspends d i s c o n n e c t i o n s t o f o u r municipalities in Mpumalanga.Over the past number of weeks, E s k o m h a s h a d s e v e r a l e n g a g e m e n t s w i t h t h e municipalities in Mpumalanga who had defaulted on their payments to them.Eskom is pleased to report that it has reached principle agreements w i t h t h e f o l l o w i n g t h r e e municipalities in the Mpumalanga Province, namely Chief Albert Luthuli, Mkhondo and Thaba Chweu Local Municipalities. “Eskom will continue to engage the remaining four municipalities namely, Goven Mbeki, Lekwa, Emakhazeni and Nkomazi Local Municipality and we are confident that the par t ies wi l l reach reasonable repayment agreements. However, should the agreements not be concluded within the week, Eskom will continue with the disconnection process.Eskom is also finalising discussions

with eMalahleni Local Municipality and we remain positive that an agreement will be concluded very soon,” an Eskom representative said.

A well-known Evangelist, Solly Mabe, visited the Coromandel Church on invitation from Pastor Johannes Ramashala, where

he evangelized from 28 March to 3 April. He is interdenominational and according to Pastor Ramashala it was

Lydenburg Funakoshi Shotokan Dojo het op 5 Maart 2016 aan ’n vriendskaplike toernooi in Hazyview deelgeneem en goed gevaar. Van die tien

karatekas van Funakoshi Shotokan wat deelgeneem het, was daar 21 medaljes altesaam gewen. Dojo's van Nelspruit, Hazyview, Witrivier en Lydenburg het almal hul

nuwe studente blootstelling gegee tot die kompetisiewêreld en die toernooi was ’n groot sukses met ’n hele aantal karatekas wat hul staal gewys het.

Okus het onlangs hul verjaarsdag behoorlik gevier. Louwrens The Storyteller het wonderlike musiek gemaak wat in almal se smaak geval het. Heerlike “platters” is ook voorgesit en die personeel het hulle uitstekend van hul taak gekwyt. Baie geluk Okus,

ons wens julle alle sukses vorentoe en nog baie verjaarsdae om na uit te sien.

The American firm is investing R2.5-billion ($170 million US dollars) to expand operations at its Silverton Assembly Plant in Pretoria, to produce the Ford Everest, along with the Ford Ranger.The investment will create approximately 1 200 new jobs at Ford South Africa. ‘Our customers love the capability and utility offered by the all-new Ford Everest,’ said Jim Farley, Ford executive vice president and president of Europe, Middle East and Africa. ‘By producing the Everest in South Africa, we will be able to make it more readily available, and in a greater variety of models, for customers throughout Sub-Saharan Africa. The R2.5-billion investment reaffirms the

importance of these markets as part of our growth strategy across the Middle East and Africa,’ Farley added. ‘It further reinforces South Africa’s position as a strategic export base for Ford Motor Company.’Silverton joins three other plants: AutoAlliance Thailand in Rayong; Ford’s Chennai plant in India (where it is sold as the Endeavor) and the JMC Xiaolan Plant in Nanchang, China, as production hubs for the new Everest. Currently, the Everest is imported from Thailand, using the locally produced 3.2-litre five-cylinder Duratorq TDCi engine. Initial production at Silverton of the Everest will commence in the third quarter of 2016, with the first units expected to come to market in the f o u r t h q u a r t e r . W i t h t h e commencement of local production, a 2.2-litre Duratorq TDCi four-cylinder diesel engine will be added to the range, along with a wider spread of specification levels.South African-produced models will be sold locally and exported to markets across Sub-Saharan Africa. However, part of the R2.5-billion investment has also been directed towards the production of the new Ranger, which is already running at maximum capacity at the Silverton Assembly Plant – with domestic sales and export demand at an all-time high.The Silverton Assembly Plant will be

equipped to produce 10 000 Everest’s per annum. ‘The all-new Everest has been extremely well received since it was launched in September last year, with demand far outstripping supply,’ said Jeff Nemeth, president and CEO of Ford Motor Company Sub-Saharan Africa Region.In recent years, Africa has emerged as an increasingly important region for Ford, with continued investment and growth. As soon as the weather cools down you can start planting out your winter and spring flowering seedlings. Sow seeds of Bokbaai vygies, Namaqualand daisies, calendula, cornflowers, Virginian stocks and nemesia directly into well-prepared beds this month. Be careful that pansies and violas planted in full sun are not scorched if you have a really hot autumn day. If you don't experience severe frost, grow petunias in the winter months, as they don't enjoy excessive rain in the summer months. There are so many seedlings to choose from, including these 'all time' favourites; aquilegia, alyssum, English daisy (Bellis), candytuft, cineraria, delphinium, dianthus, forget-me-not, foxgloves, gazania, Iceland popies, baby snapdragon (Linaria), lobelia, lupin, primula, stocks, snapdragons and ursunia. Sweet peas can be sown this month, but in regions that have severe frost, prepare your trenches this month, for planting in May. In cold regions, depending on when your first frosts arrive; early April is generally the last month to sow vegetables like broccoli, Brussels sprouts, broad beans, beetroot, broad beans, cabbage, oriental cabbages, kale, kohlrabi, cauliflower, carrots, green peas, lettuce, mustard, short-day onions, radish, spinach, Swiss chard, spinach, turnips, parsnips and parsley. If you started sowing early and have young vegetable seedlings in trays, feed them regularly with a fertiliser that is high in nitrogen to encourage rapid growth before the weather cools down. Plant out these vegetables while the soil still has some warmth in it and you are sure to have good strong plants by the time the soil cools. In very cold regions wait until June or July to sow peas, because the leaves are frost hardy but the flowers are tender. Planting

them later will ensure that they flower at the right timeEnsure that you have completed your March chores like feeding your garden for the last time with 3:1:5 and mulching your plants, especially in very cold regions. Don't mow your lawn as often and set the blades higher. This longer, thicker growth will provide protection against the coming cold. Cover your tender plants at the first sign of frost. Always water in the morning in winter as this gives the soil time to drain and warm up during the day. April is a good month to plant hardy trees, shrubs and roses, as there are still enough warm days ahead to establish them before the cold sets in. These plants will be well established by next summer and, ready to grow. Divide your hardy perennial plants, re-planting only young, healthy growth. Dig lots of compost into the beds and sprinkle with organic 2:3:2. In very cold regions, tidy up your perennials but wait until spring to lift and divide them.
