PLUMBING SPECIALTIES

PART 1 - GENERAL

1.01 SECTION INCLUDES

This section includes all plumbing specialties including floor drains, cleanouts,various types of drains and other plumbing specialties.

1.03 REFERENCES

Comply with applicable Saudi Aramco standards, codes and standards asspecified herein and listed in section 15001.

1.04 SUBMITTALS

A. Submit under provisions of division-01.B. Shop drawings: Indicate dimensions, weights and placement of

openings and holes.C. Product Data: Provide component sizes , rough-in requirements, service

sizes and finishes.D. Manufacturer's installation instruction: Indicate assembly and support

requirements.

1.05 QUALITY ASSURANCE

Installation shall comply with IPC – 2006 and Saudi Aramco Plumbing Code

SAES-S-060 and related Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards.

1.06 PROJECT RECORD DOCUMENTS

A. Submit under provisions of General Conditions

B. Record Actual locations of equipment, cleanouts, hose bibs, and waterhammer arrestors.

1.07 OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE DATA

A. Submit under provisions of Saudi Aramco requirements.

B. Maintenance Data: Include installation instructions, spare parts lists,and enlarged assembly views.

PART 2 - PRODUCTS

2.01 FLOOR DRAINS (FD)

Coated cast iron body with bottom outlet, combination invertible membraneclamp and adjustable collar with seepage slots. Outlet size to suit connected

pipe work. 50 x 150 mm polished, nickel bronze, adjustable level grating.Primer trap connections shall be provided for Mechanical Room floor drains.Floor drain shall be as manufactures by Josam, Zurn or Jay. R. Smith.

2.02 FLOOR SINK (FS)

Cast iron drain body with bottom outlet, flashing collar with protector cap andnickel bronze adjustable strainer head with secured square hole grate, P-trap shall be 80 mm deep, as manufactured by Jay R. Smith, Zurn or Josam.

2.03 SHOWER DRAINS

Coated cast iron body with bottom outlet, combination invertible membraneclamp and adjustable collar with seepage slots. Outlet size to suit connectedpipe work. 150 mm diameter stainless steel, Grade 304, flanged, adjustablelevel grating with peripheral slot, self-securing as manufactured by Jay R.Smith, Zurn or Josam.

2.04 PLANTER DRAINS

Coated cast iron body with bottom outlet, combination membrane flashingclamp and gravel guard. Outlet size to suit connected pipe work.Domed gratingwith fine stainless steel mesh screen secured in place by bolts. Planter drainsshall be as manufactured by Jay R. Smith, Zurn or Josam.

2.05 CLEANOUTS

A. General

1. All parts of the plumbing system shall comply with SAUDI ARAMCO SAES-S-060.

2. Underground sewers within buildings, 8" and less in diametershall have cleanouts at least 4" in diameter and not more than90' apart.

3. Provide cleanouts tees with plugs at the base of all soil and

waste stacks.

4. Provide cleanouts in all suspended horizontal drain lines and atchanges of direction to allow ‘rodding’ in the direction of flow.

5. Cleanouts in the tile floors shall be adjustable with square top.

B. Floor Cleanouts (FCO)

Floor cleanouts shall be of the coated cast iron floor cleanout typewith an inside caulk connection with internally gasketed cleanoutplug and an adjustable housing with a secured scoriated round satinnikaloy top, as per Josam , J.R. Smith or Zurn.

C. Wall Cleanout (WCO)

Wall cleanouts shall be of the coated cast iron cleanout tee type with aninternal recessed super seal tapped plug and hub and spigotconnections. Wall cleanout shall be complete with polished stainlesssteel wall access cover. Wall cleanout shall be as manufactured by JayR. Smith, Zurn or Josam.

2.06 HOSE BIBS

All hose bibs shall be 3/4” dia, of bronze or brass construction withintegral mounting flange, rough chrome plated type finish and integralvacuum breakers etc as per ACRON Model 8121 or equal approved.

All hose bib taps shall be complete with a hose union connection.

2.07 HYDRANTS

A. Wall hydrant : Wall hydrant shall be complete with hose connection, bronze box withchrome plated face cover. Wall hydrant shall be provided with integralvacuum breaker. Shall be as manufactured by Jay R. Smith, Zurn orJosam.

B. Ground hydrant: Ground hydrant shall be complete with hose connection, bronze boxwith chrome plated face cover. Ground hydrant shall be provided withintegral vacuum breaker. Shall be as manufactured by Jay R. Smith,Zurn or Josam.

2.08 FIXTURE SUPPORTS

A. The plumbing fixtures shall be set in accordance with the heightsindicated in architectural drawing and in accordance with Manufacturerrecommendation. Suitable approved fixture supports as recommendedby fixture manufacturer shall be used.

2.09 ROOF DRAINS

A. Cast iron body with combined flashing clamp and graved stop with coatedcast iron dome.

B. The overflow type roof drain shall be same as above, however shall beprovided with external water dam.

C. Roof drains shall be as manufactured by Jay R. Smith, Zurn or Josam.

2.09 ROOF VENT

Roof Vent shall be coated cast iron with vandal proof hood with

counter flashing collar as per Josam, Zurn or Jay. R. Smith.

2.10 WATER HAMMER ARRESTER

Water hammer arresters shall be SMITH Hydrotrol series Fig no. 5005 to 5050as applicable or approved equal.

PART 3 - EXECUTION

3.01 PREPARATION

A. Coordinate cutting and forming of roof and floor construction to receivedrains to required invert elevations.

3.02 INSTALLATION

A. Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.

B. Extend cleanouts to finished floor or wall surface. Lubricate threadedcleanouts plugs with mixture of graphite and linseed oil. Ensureclearance at cleanouts for rodding of drainage system.

C. Encase exterior cleanouts in concrete flush with grade.

D. Relief pipework from back flow preventors shall be taken to nearestdrain.
