In what way does our media product use, develop or challenge

forms and conventions of real media products?

Page 2: Document1)

Our media piece develops the forms and conventions of real media products by using real life problems and situations by real people of a the social realistic genre. The narrative of our film is that of what really people suffer everyday, the mise en scene in our video shows school girls in usual uniform seeming as if they live an ordinary schoolgirl life, the lighting we chose is ambient to show the real world, location of a school which everyone has to got at one time in there life. The period we have set our film in could be used in any era as it is issues which everyone face throughout life, certain props we have used are things which everyone (hairbrush) and one which people use if they believe to be pregnant (pregnancy test). This is where we challenge the stereotypes of a schoolgirl, as they are mint to not have a care in the world where as on this film the school girls are suffering with adult issues (such as, living with abusive boyfriend, bulimia/body issues and unplanned pregnancy. The camera angles used in our footage show zoom reverse zoom to highlight certain things (punched in door). The close up on faces and certain parts of the body shows the part which people feel insurance and shows where the pain is coming from. There are many different Focal points on our film which draw the audiences attention to the genre. We have used hand-held camera in the pregnancy scene to show the audience how her life is rocky. Our most significant shot is a high angle looking down to me being sick in the toilet to show how she feels at her lowest point in her life to the world.
