Cameroon (pronounced in French: [kamʁun]) 4, in long form the Republic of

Cameroon, is a country of Central Africa, located between Nigeria to the west,

Chad to the north , The Central African Republic to the east, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea and the Republic of the Congo to the south and the Gulf of Guinea to the southwest.

Before the colonial period, the inhabitants were not a single homogeneous group

and had several forms of social organization ranging from structured kingdoms to nomadic ethnic groups. In the nineteenth century, the German colony, which at the end of the First World War was placed under the tutelage of the League of

Nations and entrusted to the administration of France (Bamoun, Adamaoua, Garoua) East) and the United Kingdom (west). The former territory under French administration gained independence under the name of the Republic of Cameroon

on 1 January 1960. It is joined by a part of the territory under British administration (Cameroon) in October 1961 to form the Federal Republic of

Cameroon, which on May 20, 1972 was renamed the United Republic of Cameroon and then Republic of Cameroon since 1984. As for most Of the African States, Cameroon and its present borders result from European colonization.

Cameroon is now an ex officio member of the International Organization of the Francophonie, as well as the Commonwealth.

Cameroon is nicknamed "Africa in miniature" because of its climatological, geographical, human, cultural diversity

A gamba fished in Limbe, not far from the mouth of the Wouri, whose name in Portuguese, camarão,

would have given the name: Cameroon.

A word of the President of the Union

African Karate Federations (UFAK)

Dear Participants,

In the margins of the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in August 2016, the

129th General Assembly of the International Olympic Committee decided to

admit Karate as an Olympic sport.

This admission requires a professional and responsible attitude.

The UFAK must be in line with the vision of WKF President Antonio ESPINOS

for the emergence of a united and indivisible karate.

We decided to give a new orientation to the competitions within the UFAK. The

Senior Championship will now be paired with the Junior Championship.

nations to ensure the sporting succession in serenity, and to enter the World

Ranking Qualifying for the Olympic Games

our way, to accompany the dream of the Head of the STATE, his Excellency

Paul BIYA, who wants to make his country a reference of major sporting

events

We still have in mind the organization in Yaounde of qualifying tournaments

for the Olympic Games, the Women's Football CAN.

I invite officials, athletes, volunteers, members of the UFAK Executive

Committee, specialized committees to present a positive image and

demonstrate to everyone that karate is a sport of gentlemen.
