16 th May 2019 Term 2 Week 3 Ph: 49824762 Email: [email protected] Online: www.tanilbabay-p.schools.nsw.edu.au Dear Families We are having such a lovely term. The weather is glorious and we’re making the most of it with many children enjoying electives, PE lessons and other lessons out in the sunshine. Today was a VERY special day, with our Pyjama Party for Stewart House going down a treat. As a community, we raised $812.45!! Well done, what a fantastic effort. Congratulations Mrs Burr on organising such a super day. NAPLAN: Breakfast is served Our Years 3 and 5 students thought they were VERY special and important on Wednesday, when we provided them with a special breakfast before their first NAPLAN tests. Sausage sandwiches and a fruit platter hit the spot nicely, and all went into their tests with nice, warm, full bellies and switched on brains. We also provided bottled water for those without their own water bottles and fruit for a brain break. Providing your child with a hearty, healthy breakfast is a lovely way to support them during NAPLAN time, as is getting them off to bed early. DATE CLAIMERS 14 th -24 th May: NAPLAN Saturday 18 th May: ELECTION Day at TBPS Thursday 30 th May Next P&C Meeting: LOVE to see you there!

BUS Biz It’s important the behaviour on the bus doesn’t get in the way of safe travel, so we frequently remind students that our high expectations for positive behaviour apply on the bus. Please remind your children that their continued bus travel depends on their safe behaviour. Hands and feet to yourself, Be Kind, Stay in your Seat. If your child experiences a problem while travelling on the bus, we encourage you to let us know so that we can support them to manage their problem and feel safe and happy when travelling on the bus. STRANGER DANGER Last week, some comments were made on Tilligerry News and Views about an incident that occurred on the peninsula. It was reported to Police that two girls from San Clemente High were waiting at a bus stop when a man in a silver car pulled over to talk to them. We spoke with the Police who, at that time, had not yet spoken with the girls concerned and asked that we not send out an alert as they didn’t yet have the facts. We did, however, take the opportunity to invite one of our local school liaison officers to pop out to the school and join us on Assembly, where we discussed some simple Stranger Danger messages. Thank you to the parents who suggested a Police visit via our Facebook page, and to those who shared their positive feedback….as well as to Constable Wylie, who had lots of fun at Assembly. TRAFFIC WOES There was also talk on Tilli News and Views about traffic around the school, with a recent afternoon gridlock caused by a parent parked illegally. Please obey all traffic sign and remember that there is no stopping in the cul de sac at all in the afternoons. The local parking officer was in attendance this morning and will continue to support the community to keep our students safe. Kindy 2020 Some eager beavers are already asking about Kindy for next year. If you have a Kindy kid coming along to us in 2020, please pop into the office to register your interest and leave details. We’re putting together special Kindy enrolments packs with details of additional transition services. They’ll be available from the end of this term and will include an enrolment application form. If you’re already come in to fill out a form, we’ll make sure you get your special enrolment pack too. BIG THANK YOU Our amazing community raised $812.45 for Stewart House.

Way to go!

Great job Mrs Burr!
