Owing to the impact of Korean drama and K-POP, Korean cosmetics in Taiwan are increas-ingly popular, also widely accepted by Taiwan consumers. With the increase in female consumingability, the demand for cosmetics also increased, but how to attract consumers to buy their productscannot be ignored. In addition to through eWOM / WOM, experiential marketing, how to retain theoriginal customers, attract new consumers, the design of the appropriate brand image, and raise thepurchase intention are also important. In this study, I used an online questionnaire to survey andSPSS as a tool to analyze data, such as: descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, factor analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis. The research aims to explore the relationship betweeneWOM, experiential marketing, brand image, brand loyalty, and purchase intention.

In device-to-device (D2D) communication, user equipments (UE)/devices are able to directlycommunicate with each other or minimal use of base station (BS)/Evolve Node B (eNodeB). Thearrival of new applications such as context aware services, location aware advertisement, nearbycontent distribution provides new direction for D2D communication in 5G communication system.D2D communication not only increases the spectral efficiency, energy efficiency and overall net-work throughput but also reduces the communication delay between devices. In the other hand,D2D communication creates interference to cellular users (CU) that reduces the quality of serviceover the network. There are several open research problem in D2D with respect to 5G networks:interference control, resource allocation for CU and D2D users, device centric architecture. Thereare more than five hundred papers on D2D communication but limited paper on D2D communi-cation for the 5G networks. Therefore, in this paper we present a survey over device-to-devicecommunication for 5G networks. In addition, we also cover the possible future research directionfor the 5G networks and also discussed the open research problems for D2D communication forthe 5G networks.

In this paper, we have presented different circuit techniques for review design of low powertwo-stage CMOS operational amplifiers employing Miller capacitor in conjunction with the common-gate current buffer. The main objective of this paper is to design low power, high gain and fullydifferential operational amplifiers with proper compensation techniques. All the designs had beendone using Cadence UMC 180nm and gpdk 90nm models. Design objective to operate lower thanstandard supply voltage (1.8V and 1V) respectively. Achievement of high gain around 70 dB, Lowpower dissipation typically 28uW and 60 degree phase margin for stable closed loop operationswere the primary goal. Designing, simulation and comparisons of various performance parametershad been done using Cadence. All kind of analysis including transient, AC, has been done and acomparison had been done on the basis of performance metrics.

Object Detection and Positioning using Fast Spiral Search

1Du-Ming Tsai, 2Wei-Yao Chiu, 3Morris Fan, 4Ching-Hau Peng1,4Department of Industrial Engineering and Management Yuan-Ze University, Taiwan, R.O.C,

Object detection and localization are very important in computer vision, especially for in-dustrial applications such as fiducial detection and defect inspection. When target objects appearin random locations, scales and rotations, the image matching task becomes difficult. In this pa-per, we present a fast machine vison scheme for object detection and positioning using the spiralsearch. The proposed method is edge-based, and involves two phases: object search, and objectverification. A spiral look-up-table (LUT) is off-line constructed that records the distance and ro-tation angle of each spiral point in the sequence. In the object search phase, the scale ratio androtation angle between a template edge point and a scene edge point can be evaluated very fastfrom the spiral LUT in a low-resolution image. In the object verification, the similarity between acandidate instance and the template is calculated also using the spiral LUT to verify the true targetobject in the original resolution level. The performance of the proposed method is evaluated by itsapplications to fiducial-mark detection in printed-circuit board (PCB) manufacturing. Experimen-tal results reveal that the proposed method is very effective, and is computationally very efficient.

A Comparative Study of Dual-mode Geographic Routing Schemes forWireless Sensor Networks

1Lalit Kumar Awasthi, 2Rajesh Sharma1,2Dr B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar, India

[email protected]

In geographic routing, the routing decisions are solely based on the location of the nodescomprising the network. Geographic routing is also known for its scalability, robustness, and con-stant state per node. Location awareness in sensor nodes is a fundamental requirement in majorityof Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) applications. Hence, geographic routing has emerged as themost appropriate routing approach for WSNs. Recently, dual-mode geographic routing techniqueshave attracted a significant research attention. These schemes optimize the performance of end-to-end geographic routing by combining the efficiency of greedy forwarding with the robustnessof dead-end recovery mechanisms. Asymmetric and variable nodes’ transmission ranges and lo-calization errors are the two most challenging issues in dual-mode geographic routing approach.Dead-end recovery schemes in particular are more vulnerable to these transmission impairmentsdue to their underlying assumption of Unit Disk Graph (UDG) model for wireless links. In thispaper, we have critically compared the state-of-the-art schemes in dual-mode geographic routingschemes for WSNs and propose a novel idea of modelling transmission ranges of sensor nodes forrobust recovery mode operation.

Was Intake of Oxidant-Rich Food the Trigger of Onset of AmyolateralScrelosis in Japan?

1Kazushi Okamoto, 2Tamako Kihira1Aichi Prefectural University, Japan, 2Kansai University of Medical Science, Japan

[email protected]

Background: Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a neurodegenerative disease, which hasbeen linked to the generation of free radicals and oxidative stress. The Koza, Kozagawa and Kushi-moto area in the Kii Peninsula of Japan (K area) is a well-known high incidence area of ALS withlow calcium and magnesium contents in soil and drinking water sourced from Kozagawa Riverin the K area. Although it is obviously predicted that those status is affected by nutritional sta-tus, few studies have examined nutritional states in population living in K area. Objective: Theaim of this study was to explore nutritional factors to look for the explanatory clues of the highincidence of ALS in the K area from comparisons with the area free from ALS (control area)together with the results of a population-based case-control study conducted in Japan. Method:A cross-sectional population-based survey was conducted for adults aged 15 years living in Karea and control area in 2010 (Study 1). A case-control study was conducted with incident 183ALS cases and 407 controls (Study 2) . Dietary information was obtained by a self-administeredfood frequency questionnaire (FFQ), consisting of 97 commonly eaten food and beverage items.Frequency of food consumption was classified into two categories as follows; low (never/seldomor less than once a week 1-3 days a week), and high (4-5 days a week or almost everyday). Thedifferences of means were tested with analysis of variance, and of the distribution of proportionswith the chi-square test. Results: In Study 1, K area had a significant lower percent intake of fatincluding meat consumption, and higher percent intake of protein including fish consumption. InStudy 1, the percent of subjects with frequent consumption of dried fish was significantly higherin K area than in control area, and the greatest effect on risk for ALS was frequent consumptionof dried fish and less frequent consumtion of fat including meat consumption. In Study 2, frequentconsumption of dried fish was significantly associated with a increased risk of ALS, even afteradjusting for confounding factors (low vs. high, adjusted OR: 4.8 (95Conclusion: We found thatfrequent consumption of dried fish was significantly associated with an increased risk for ALS inboth Study 1 and Study 2. Our findings suggested that frequent consumption of dried fish mighthave triggered the development of ALS in the K area.

Randomised Controlled Trials for Surgical Procedures Do Not ImproveEvidence

Ned AbrahamUNSW Australia, [email protected]

Introduction: There is no supportive evidence that randomized trials (RCTs) in surgery is theGold Standard. However, the notion that they do, seems to have become too popular to be ques-tioned. Methods: Enrollment patterns in the largest completed Australian RCT for laparoscopicsurgery for colorectal cancer (ALCCaS) were examined prospectively and the literature reviewedfor enrollment rates and reasons for failure to enroll in other published similar international studies. The results an RCT and of a case control study performed at the same center by the same inves-tigators and around the same time were compared. Two large contemporaneous meta-analysesof RCTs and of non-randomised comparative studies (NRCSS) of the same procedure were con-ducted and their results were statistically compared. Results: Less than 50% of eligible patientsare enrolled in RCTs of surgical procedures. The most commonly recorded reason for failure toenroll was a preference for one form of surgery or the other causing the surgeon to exclude thepatient from the RCT. It is likely that at best, 50% of accredited surgeons do actually see an RCTto its completion. There is a strong suggestion from the literature that systematic differences be-tween enrolled and eligible but not enrolled patients do exist. There is a suggestion that a NRCSof surgical procedure may exaggerate effect estimates compared with an RCT but the evidence forthis is week. The results of contemporaneous meta-analysis of RCTs and of NRCSs of close to9,000 bowel resections for 13 variables common between the two meta-analyses, were more than95% similar. Conclusion: There is probably no need for us to conduct Randomized ControlledTrials for surgical procedures as the results of their meta-analyses are probably just as accurate orjust as inaccurate as those of Non-randomized Comparative Studies.
