¡Hola! Costa Rica

The Winterim with an accent

Welcome to Monteverde, Costa Rica, a small town nestled in the mountains surrounded by some of the most

famous biological reserves in the world and site of our Winterim.

Our Winterim offers a unique mix of language learning, home stays, cultural activities, travel, biological exploration, and volunteer work.

The core of the program consist of 2 hours of hands-on language instruction in the morning with native speakers at Centro Panamericano de Idiomas, a language institute

which offers instruction for all levels.

With great teachers and interactive activities, fun and learning are always the goals here.

After the language classes come cultural activities such as music jam sessions…………

Cooking classes……

And games.

Everyday we eat lunch at a nearby restaurant where sampling the local cuisine and sharing our impressions is part of the

experience.

In the afternoon we have something new practically every day. There are the reserves to explore on guided hikes…….

Art classes where we learn to use local cloud forest materials to make jewelry, books, and souvenirs.

Visiting the butterfly farm is always one of the most popular activities…..especially the part where

we get to eat bugs.

For the adventurous there is the Sky Trek, a series of zip lines through the cloud forest canopy.

We do volunteer work to give something back to a community that gives us so much.

When the sun goes down we keep on going with…

Salsa and Merengue dance lessons

Evening hikes through the reserves to observe the local Evening hikes through the reserves to observe the local night life.night life.

We try to catch a concert at the Monteverde International Music Festival which occurs during our stay. In fact, the music we are enjoying right now is the group that we heard last year.

And of course there is time to get to know your host family!

Hey mom! It’s a volcano. Over the weekend we will visit the Arenal area of the country to relax in volcanic hot springs

and explore the natural beauty of the region.

The weekend also includes a white water rafting adventure.

There is a little time left over for relaxing. (Hot tub at CPI!)

We invite you to come and experience ¡HOLA! COSTA RICA for yourself.
