#32 Kevin Barrett 2nd Year6’2” Forward Syracuse Bishop LuddenBackground: Kevin was Onondga’s second leading scorer and rebounder in 2004-05, as he averaged 12.4 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. He scored a career best 28 points in the Lazers’ win at North Country that season, and grabbed a career best 16 boards against Finger Lakes. He also set an Onondaga single season record with 56 blocked shots. He was named Region III Male Athlete of the Week once that season. Before Onondaga, Kevin was a four year varsity player for coach Pat Donnelly at Bishop Ludden. As a senior captain he led the Gaelic Knights to the Section III Class AA championship game while averaging 14 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 blocked shots per game. He

was a second team All-Central New York selection and a first team Onondaga High School League Colonial American Division All-League selection as a senior, and an honorable mention All-League selection as a junior. He was also a two-time Zebra Classic selection. Kevin was a high school teammate of current Lazers Pete Byrne and Ryan Chapman.

#11 Mitch Beaver 2nd Year5’10” Guard Mattydale Cicero-North SyracuseBackground: Mitch played in 9 games last season, scoring 15 points and grabbing 4 rebounds. His season high was a 5 point effort against Corning. Before Onondaga, Mitch attended Cicero-North Syracuse, graduating in 2005. Dur-ing high school Mitch played CYO basketball for St. Rose of Lima in North Syracuse. #23 Ryan Chapman 2nd Year6’3” Forward Syracuse Bishop LuddenBackground: Ryan played in 28 games last season. He averaged 3.0 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. He scored a career high 11 points at SUNY Canton and led the team with 7 rebounds against Jamestown-Cattaraugus. Before coming to Onondaga, Ryan played three varsity seasons for coach Pat Donnelly at Bishop Ludden High School. He averaged 11 points per game for the Gaelic Knights, led his team to the Section III Class AA Semi-Finals, and was named to the All-Tournament Team of the Bishop Ludden Christmas Tournament, He was a high school teammate of current Lazers Kevin Barrett and Pete Byrne.

#20 Pat Crowley 2nd Year6’5” Forward Auburn Union SpringsBackground: Pat played in all 31 games last season, aver-aging 3.2 points and 2.2 rebounds per contest. He scored a season high 14 points in the Lazers’ home win over Jeffer-son. Before coming to Onondaga, Pat played three varsity seasons for coach Tim Darnell at Union Springs. He aver-aged 12.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.1 steals, and 1.6 blocks per game and led his team to the Section IV Class C finals in his junior year and semifinals in his senior year. He was a two-time Interscholastic Athletic Conference 1st team All-League selection, and was named Division III Most Valuable Player in his junior year. He was also named to the Auburn Citizen All-Star 1st team in both his

junior and senior seasons.

#43 Bentley Johnson 2nd Year6’1” Forward Earlville Sherburne-EarlvilleBackground: Ben played in 10 games last season. He scored 10 points, including 6 at Schenectady, and grabbed 8 rebounds for the season. Prior to coming to Onondaga, Ben played high school baketball for coach Kevin Vibbard at Sherburne-Earlville. He averaged 8.3 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, and was named honorable mention Center State Conference All-League and honorable men-tion All-Chenango County. An excellent all-around ath-lete, he was also a 4-year starter and most valuable player on his school’s soccer team.

Josh Kennedy Redshirt5’11” Guard Bridgeport ChittenangoBackground: Josh will redshirt this season in anticipation of playing in 2008-09. He played in 11 games last season. He scored 8 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, and handed out 9 assists, including 4 against SUNY Canton. Prior to com-ing to Onondaga, Josh played high school basketball for coach John Clancy at Chittenango. He played both guard positions for the Bears and led his team into the Section III playoffs.

#33 Brett Liedka 2nd Year6’7” Center Cicero Bishop GrimesBackground: Brett played in all 31 games last season. He averaged 2.5 points and 2.7 rebounds per game, and shot 50.0% from the floor on the season. His season bests were 9 rebounds against Queensborough Community College and 6 points on 2 different occasions. Brett transferred to Onondaga last year after attending SUNY Oswego. He is a 2005 graduate of Bishop Grimes, where he played for coach Jamie Evans. In high school, he averaged 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 blocked shots per game in leading the Cobras to the Section III Class B finals. He was a 2nd team Onondaga High School League All-League selection, and was chosen to play in the Zebra Classic.

Before coming to Onondaga, Cameron played for coach Craig Phillips at Fort Plain. He averaged 12.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game, and was named a Western Athletic Con-ference All-Star and his team’s Best Offensive Player. Cameron was also a member of Fort Plain’s Sectional champion baseball team.

Tim Scholz Redshirt6’ Guard Camillus West GeneseeBackground: Tim will redshirt this year in anticipation of playing in 2008-09. Last season played in 25 games. He scored 30 points, grabbed 20 rebounds, and handed out 19 assists on the year. His season best was an 8 point, 4 assist outing against Schenectady County. Before coming to Onondaga, Tim played for coach Steve Dunham at West Genesee. He averaged 12.3 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game, and connected on 44 three-point goals. He was an honorable mention All-Central New York and Onondaga High School League All-League selection, and was named to the All-tournament team at the Bishop Lud-den Holiday Tournament, Tim was a high school teammate

of current Lazers Dan Shelly and Shane Williams.

#24 Luke Schrader 2nd Year6’2” Guard Herkimer HerkimerBackground: Luke played in 18 games last season. He scored 29 points, grabbed 18 rebounds, and handed out 11 assists. He scored a career high 7 points in Onondaga’s win at Broome which clinched the MSAC regular season cham-pionship. Before coming to Onondaga, Luke played for coach Rich Schoff at Herkimer. A three-year varsity per-former, he averaged 17.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 3.1 steals per game in leading his team to back to back Center State Conference Championships and back to back appearances in the Section III Class C championship game. Luke was a 1st team All-League selection and was named Co-Most Valuable Player of his team. He was a high school

teammate of current Lazer James Burns.

#12 Zack Thomsen 2nd Year6’2” Guard South New Berlin Unadilla ValleyBackground: Zack started the first 15 games last season, before suffering a season ending knee injury. He averaged 6.5 points and 6.1 assists per contest and ranked 17th na-tionally in assists. He recorded season highs of 19 points at Finger Lakes and 11 assists against North Country. Before coming to Onondaga, Zack was a standout player for coach Matt Osborne at Unadilla Valley. He was a 4th team All-State selection in leading his team to the Midstate Athletic Conference championship and the Section IV Class C championship game. He averaged 21.2 points, 6.7 re-bounds, 3.7 assists, and 3.7 steals per game. Zack was a two-time 1st team All-Conference selection and was the

conference Most Valuable Player as a senior. He was named Player of the Year by the Oneonta Daily Star and was named to the All-Metro team by the Binghamton Press & Sun Bulletin. He was a two-time All-Chenango County and Stars & Stripes All-Star Classic selection, and a high school teammate of current Lazer Matt Potter.

#40 Chris Vincent 2nd Year6’3” Guard Baldwinsville C.W. BakerBackground: Chris played in 28 games last season and averaged 7.0 points and 2.3 rebounds per game. He led the Lazers with a career high 29 points against Jamestown-Cattaraugus, and reached double figures a total of 7 times. Chris transferred to Onondaga last year from SUNY Cort-land. He is a 2005 graduate of C.W. Baker High School in Baldwinsville, where he played for coach Tom Cooney. At Baldwinsville, Chirs averaged 11.6 points per game and was named to the Zebra Classic in his senior year. He was an outstanding three-sport athlete who also starred in foot-ball and baseball.

#31 Shane Williams 2nd Year6’5” Forward Syracuse West GeneseeBackground: Shane averaged 9.8 points and 9.7 rebounds per game last season. He also established a new single game Onondaga record with 21 rebounds against Tomp-kins Cortland. He had 9 scoring-rebounding double-doubles on the season and led the team with 1.9 steals and 1.7 blocked shots per game. He was an Honorable Men-tion All-MSAC selection. He has also been selected to the Empire State Games Central Region open men’s basketball team each of the past two summers. Shane came to Onondaga from West Genesee High School, where he played for coach Steve Dunham. He averaged 15.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 2.3 blocks per game. He was

a 1st team Onondaga High School League All-League selection and an honorable mention All-Central New York selection. Shane was a member of the Empire State Games Central Region scholastic basketball team. He was also a two-time Zebra Classic selection, earning All-Tournament recognition as a senior. This past summer he was selected as an alternate on the Empire State Games Central Region open men’s basketball team. He is a 2006 graduate of Bishop Ludden, where he played for coach Pat Donnelly. He was a three-year varsity performer at Ludden, and team captain as a senior. As Ludden’s point guard he averaged 8.0 points and 5.0 as-sists per game. #25 Jordan Barzee 1st Year6’3” Guard Cicero Home SchooledBackground: Jordan is believed to be the first home schooled men’s basketball player at Onondaga. He played basketball for Syracuse Christian and coach Peter Irvine, av-eraging 15 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 6 assists per game. He was two-time Greater Fin-ger Lakes Christian Athletic Association North Division Most Valuable Player, and a three-time 1st Team All-Conference selection. Jordan was also an outstanding soccer player for Syracuse Christian.

He led his team to their best record in several seasons and a Section III Quarter-final appearance. Jason aver-aged 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists per game. He was named 2nd team All-Onondaga High School League and was selected to the Zebra Classic. A talented multi-sport athlete, Jason was also an All-Central New York baseball player and is ex-pected to play baseball for the Lazers this spring.

Johnny Davis 6th YearAssistant Coach Syracuse SUNY CortlandBackground: Coach Davis is entering his 6th season with the Lazers. Prior to coming to Onondaga, he coached 15 years at Onondaga Central High School, serving as the As-sistant Varsity and Head JV Basketball Coach under coach Larry Behm. During that time, he helped the Tigers to 6 league and 2 sectional titles. Coach Davis is a graduate of Nottingham High School and SUNY Cortland, where he played basketball and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Politi-cal Science. He also holds a Masters Degree from the Syra-cuse University Maxwell School of Public Administration. Scott Blair 2nd YearAssistant Coach Syracuse Kutztown UniversityBackground: Coach Blair enters his 2nd season with Onondaga.  He came to the Lazers from NCAA Division II Kutztown University of Pennsylvania.  While at KU, Coach Blair worked as an assistant under coach Bernie Driscoll for the 2005-06 season and as an intern during the 2004-05 campaign, a season which saw the Golden Bears ranked as high as 17th in the nation.  The team finished 16-12 and 15-12 in Coach Blair’s 2 seasons, qualifying for the Pennsylva-nia State Athletic Conference playoffs each year. Coach Blair began his coaching career as an assistant varsity coach for the boys program at Kutztown Area High School from 2001 until 2005.  His last season with the Cougars, 2004-05,

saw the varsity program finish with a 19-7 record and qualify for the PIAA District III Quarterfi-nals. Coach Blair holds a Bachelor's degree in Education and a Masters of Education from Kutztown.  He currently works at Syracuse University and lives in Syracuse with his wife, Katie.

Dave Pasiak 8th YearHead Coach Waterville Clarkson UniversityBackground: Coach Pasiak has been involved in coaching basketball for the past 24 years. In 7 years at Onondaga, Coach Pasiak has compiled an overall record of 131-81. His teams are 67-31 in Mid-State Athletic Conference play, and 118-66 against Region III Division III competition. The Lazers are the only Mid-State Conference school and are one of only three schools overall to have qualified for the Region III Tournament in each of the last 6 seasons. Onondaga is 91-43 after January 1 during Coach Pasiak’s tenure. Most importantly, all of his recruited players re-mained academically eligible and on track towards their

degrees. Onondaga has not lost a recruited or returning player to mid-season ineligibility since Coach Pasiak’s arrival, and overall 98% of Onondaga players have remained academically eligible. Also, since arriving at Onondaga 5 years ago, 26 former Lazers have moved on to play at Division I, II, and III four-year schools. He has produced 2 All-Americans, 1 Academic All-American, 4 pre-season All-Americans, 12 All-Region players, 2 conference Players of the Year, and 12 All-Conference players in 7 years.

Last season, Coach Pasiak directed Onondaga to its first Mid-State Athletic Conference championship in 15 years. The Lazers also captured the regular season conference championship, and received the #3 seed in the NJCAA Region III Division III Tournament. Onondaga has qualified for post-season play in each of Coach Pasiak’s 7 seasons, the only Mid-State School to accomplish that feat over that time period. The Lazers ranked 5th nationally in scoring offense last season, the 7th consecutive year that they have been among the top 10 scoring teams in the nation.

Coach Pasiak is a two-time Mid-State Athletic Conference Coach of the Year. having been selected for the honor in both 2002 and 2003. In addition, he was named the Region III Coach of the Year for 2002-03. In that season, the Lazers finished with an overall record of 23-7, the 2nd best ever at Onondaga. The 2002-03 team also had a regular season mark of 23-5, the best ever at the school, had a school record 14 game winning streak, and was ranked in the NJCAA national poll for 5 weeks. The Lazers have qualified for the Mid-State Athletic Conference Tournament 6 times in Coach Pasiak’s 7 years, and have reached the Championship game 3 times, including last year’s title win. The Lazers were also the top scoring team in the country in 2001-02, when they averaged 98.6 points per game.

Previously, Coach Pasiak served as the head coach at Herkimer County Community College for 2 years, from 1991 to 1993. He also served for 2 seasons as an assistant under the late Jack Bruen at Colgate University, a Division I institution in Hamilton, NY. In addition, he served 4 seasons as an assistant at Division III Utica College in Utica, NY, and has coached at several high schools in Central New York. Immediately prior to coming to Onondaga, he was the Athletic Director at Frankfort-Schuyler Central School, in Frankfort, NY.

Coach Pasiak is a 1984 graduate of Clarkson University, where he was a member of the basketball team. In addition to coaching the Lazers, he also serves as Athletics & Intramurals Coordinator at Onondaga. He is also currently the head coach of the Central Region Empire State Games open men’s basketball team. He has been a featured speaker and staff member at several of the top basketball camps in the northeast. He is actively involved In Coaches vs. Cancer and serves on the Board of Directors for the Basketball Coaches Association of New York.

Camp Features:• Outstanding daily fundamental instruction• A camper to coach ratio of 6:1 or better (the lowest

October 25-26, 2008 (tentative)

Schedule:Saturday, October 25: 8:00 am - 10:00 pmSunday, October 26: 8:00 am - 8:00 pm

Format:• Each team will play a minimum of five games.• On Saturday, each team will have three games in

pool play• On Sunday, teams will be bracketed and compete

for the shootout championship.

Games:• Games will consist of two 16 minute halves -

stopped clock, not running time!• Every game will be officiated by certified officials.• Three minute halftime, at least 5 minutes pregame,

two 30 second timeouts per game.• Except for the above modifications, National Fed-

eration rules will be used.

Registration:• The tournament is designed to be an event for

varsity-level players, and is limited to the first 16 teams to register.
