n the fall of 2007, we sent a satisfaction survey by email to the Casady classes of 2004 (college seniors), 2005 (juniors), 2006 (sophomores) and 2007 (freshmen). We heard back from 102 alumni at 63 different colleges and universities— representing an extraordinary 42 percent response rate. In a profound reaffirmation of the quality of our programs, more than 86 percent of respondents expressed high satisfaction with their Casady experience, and every respondent provided thoughtful replies to the survey’s open-ended questions. A central finding of the survey is that strength of character truly matters at Casady. A variety of questions in different sections of the survey addressed personal responsibility, ethics, sense of community and the school’s emphasis on character. n the fall of 2007, we sent a satisfaction survey by email to the Casady classes of 2004 (college seniors), 2005 (juniors), 2006 (sophomores) and 2007 (freshmen). We heard back from 102 alumni at 63 different colleges and universities—representing an extraordinary 42 percent response rate.

Across the board, responses were extremely positive.

We care deeply about the results of this survey. The assessments offered by recent graduates are the most effective measurement of how well we prepare our students for life beyond Casady.

STRENGTH OF FACULTY

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

COMMUNITY & CHARACTER

The survey included general questions on less tangible aspects of our school program, including community, diversity and character. Of these, sense of community (4.2), emphasis on character (3.9) and social experience (3.8) received the best scores on a 5-point scale.

When asked to identify a single faculty member who had the greatest influence on their learning, our young alumni named an impressive 41 different individuals. As for overall quality of the faculty, 82 percent of respondents rated the caliber of Casady’s faculty as a 4 or a 5 on a 5-point scale. While all top-notch independent schools boast talented faculty, we are particularly proud of the diversity and sheer number of Casady teachers who have a positive and enduring impact on our graduates.

In looking back at their high school years, our young alumni specified the following areas of genuine strength. A “5” is the strongest rating.
