Welcome to caSady School’S Summer by the lake Spend some of your summer days on our

beautiful, 80-acre campus in northwest

Oklahoma City. We welcome both the

Casady community and young people from

the greater Oklahoma City metropolitan area

to participate in our summer programs.

Summer by the Lake is a part of Casady

School’s Extended Programs. Our goal is

to provide a wide variety of opportunities

for anyone with a desire for an exciting and

enriching experience. We have a flexible

schedule where one can pick and choose

multiple programs throughout the summer.

about caSady School Casady is an independent, Episcopal,

college preparatory school located at the

corner of Pennsylvania Ave. and Britton Rd.

in an area of Oklahoma City known as The

Village. The school has four educational

divisions: Primary (ages 3-6 years), Lower

(grades 1-4), Middle (grades 5-8), Upper

(grades 9-12). Casady admits students

without regard to gender, race, creed or

ethnic origin.

Summer ProGramS dateS aNd tImeSSummer by the Lake runs from June 6 to August 6. Camps/Courses are available

for grades Pre K-12. Most camps are on a Monday-Thursday schedule and begin at

9 a.m. We do provide early 7:45 am supervision and a supervised lunch period for

students attending both morning and afternoon sessions. Camps and courses are

generally between one and three weeks in duration. Friday and “after camp” care is

also available.

FeeSAll fees have to be paid utilizing our online registration system. The registrant accepts

that Casady School will automatically bill any balance due for a course or camp in the

manner provided. All payment plan billing will happen on the fifth of each month.

oNlINe reGIStratIoN & accouNt maNaGemeNt

Our system has two parts: online registration and account management. The online

registration link will take you to that module for new course registration. The account

management link will allow you to view your enrolled courses/camps and view your

financial account. You are able to print statements and make payments in this module.

Both of these links are available on the Extended Programs or Summer by the Lake

web page located at www.casady.org.

caNcellatIoNS or reFuNdS

Payments will be refunded if any activity or event is canceled by Casady School at

any time. If the event is NOT canceled, a refund minus an administration fee for each

course will be given if the request to withdraw was made by email prior to two weeks

before the first day of the camp or class. We are sorry, but, we cannot give a refund if

a withdrawal is made less than two weeks before the activity event starts unless it is

canceled.

SuPervISed luNchA supervised lunch period in Calvert Hall will be available to campers that attend

both morning and afternoon sessions. Campers are encouraged to bring a sack

lunch; more information will be provided about lunch purchase and concessions

opportunities during this supervised lunch period in early May.

dreSS code

We want all staff members and participants to feel comfortable, so the dress code for

the summer program is informal. Walking shorts, appropriate T-shirts, tennis shoes

and sandals are the most common styles.

Summer behavIor PolIcyCasady School reserves the right to request withdrawal of any student whose conduct,

attendance, or progress is deemed undesirable or unsatisfactory. Failing to conform

to the School’s rules and regulations may cause immediate dismissal without refund.

Possession or use of alcohol, tobacco, drugs or firearms is prohibited.

uPPer dIvISIoN academIc credItTrimester credit may be available for Casady students in designated Upper Division

courses. A non-Casady student’s regular school determines whether or not to grant

credit for a Casady summer course. Casady School will not recommend specifically

that credit be granted, but we will forward test, grade, course description, and

attendance information to the student’s regular school. Credit courses do require 100

percent attendance. Unavoidable absences must be made up on a tutorial basis with

the instructor, and the student assumes any extra expenses for such. Students taking

a course for “enrichment” purposes do not have an attendance requirement.

ProGram INFormatIoNFor additional information about Summer by the Lake, call (405) 749-3193, or email

[email protected]. Information can be provided by Division Assistants.

For information concerning regular school admissions, contact the Admission Office,

(405) 749-3185.

bead For lIFe Cost: $119Join with other students to learn more about the conditions of extreme poverty in Africa; activities are designed with a specific focus on Bead for Life, a grass roots movement devoted to tackling this crisis. Go to www.beadforlife.org to see the positive impact these little paper beads are having in Uganda right now. Throughout the week students will be involved in simulations, discussions and service learning to better understand global poverty and the ways we can make a difference. Also, during the four-day course, students will experience what it is like to live on $1.00 a day as well as learn how to make the paper beads and be challenged to take action against extreme poverty.
