The Northeast-10 Conference is an NCAA Division II conference that was established in 1979, and began play the following year. The conference consists of 15 full time members, and one associate member and features institutions throughout the Northeast including Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, and Vermont.

The institutions that make up the Northeast-10 include Adelphi University (Garden City, N.Y.), American International College (Springfield, Mass.), Assumption College (Worces-ter, Mass.), Bentley University (Waltham, Mass.), Franklin Pierce University (Rindge, N.H.), Le Moyne College (Syracuse, N.Y.), Merrimack College (North Andover, Mass.), University of New Haven (West Haven, Conn.), Pace University (Pleasantville, N.Y.), Saint Anselm College (Manchester, N.H.), Saint Michael’s College (Colchester, Vt.), Col-lege of Saint Rose (Albany, N.Y.), Southern Connecticut State University (New Haven, Conn.), Southern New Hampshire University (Manchester, N.H.), and Stonehill College (Easton, Mass.). The 15 member institutions are spread geographically from Syracuse, New York to Waltham, Massachusetts and Colchester, Vermont to Gar-den City, New York. Many of the members are located in or around the metropolitan areas of Albany, Boston, New Ha-ven, Worcester, and New York City.

The Northeast-10 has evolved into a membership committed to competitive athletics programs that emphasize the educa-tion, both on and off the field, of its more than 6,500student-athletes Among the many accomplishments of these institutions are NCAA Division II National Championships in women’s basketball, women’s cross country, field hockey, men’s la-crosse, women’s lacrosse, men’s soccer, women’s track and field, and men’s and women’s swimming and diving.

The Bentley women’s basketball team completed a perfect 35-0 season last year, and won their first-ever national title in the sport.

During the 2013-14 academic year, the NE-10Conference had its mostsuccessful year ever, as threee teams won nationaltitles: Adelphi University Women’s Lacrosse, BentleyUniversity Women’sBasketball, and Southern New Hampshire Men’s Soccer all claimed titles, marking the first time inleague history that three teams won a championshipin the same school year.

Individual national titles were also won by two student-athletes from Southern Connecticut State University. Swimmer Raymond Cswerko won the 200-yard butterfly national title, while Nick Lebron won the heptathlon championship for the second time in his career. While the successes on the playing field were numerous, those in the classroom may have been even more impres- sive. In October, the NCAA released its Academic Success Rate (ASR) information, and eight of the 15 NE-10 schools ranked in the top-30 nationally.

The next highest conference total was the CACC, the GLVC, and the Sunshine State that each had three schools. All eight of the NE-10 schools in the top 30 achieved an ASR of 90% or better, while Saint Michael’s (98%); Stonehill (97%) and Bentley (95%) were all among the top-10 nationally. Today’s NE-10 remains focused on complementing the academic integrity and missions of the member institutions with a commitment to a broad-based championship program, as evidenced by the 24 sports the Conference offers in championship play.

Through the establishment and enforcement of regulations, the conference aims to encour-age policies that enable intercollegiate athletics programs to contribute to and be consid-ered an integral part of the total educational offerings at our member institutions.

The Northeast-10 can look to a long history of success including the growth from seven original member institutions to more than double its size 30 years later, the contention for and winning of multiple national championships, and the recognition of student-athlete performances off the field and in the classroom.

FROM UPSTATE NEW YORK:Take the New York State Thruway to the Tappen Zee Bridge (toward New England). After crossing the bridge, continue to I-287 east and follow signs for 1-95 south. Take 295 to the Throgs Neck Bridge. Go over the Throgs Neck Bridge, bearing right, and exit onto the Cross Island Parkway - Eastern Long Island. Take the Cross Island Parkway to the Long Island Expressway (Route 495) - Eastern Long Island. From there, follow the L.I.E. (East) directions below.

FROM NEW ENGLAND:Take either I-91 south to I-95 in New Haven, or 1-684 south to 1-287 east (toward New England) to I-95 south. Depending on where you get on I-95, you may travel through Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and New York’s Westchester and Bronx counties. Remain on I-95 and follow signs for I-295 (Throgs Neck Bridge, Eastern Long Island). Go over the Throgs Neck Bridge, bearing right, and exit onto the Cross Island Parkway- Eastern Long Island. From Route 95/128, Heading North:Take the Third Avenue/Totten Pond Road exit (27A-27B). Take Exit 27B on the left toward Totten Pond Road/Winter Street. Keep right at the fork to go on Wyman Street. At very end of exit, bear right onto Wyman Street. Follow about a quarter-mile to traffic lights. Take left on to Totten Pond Road. At end, take right on Lexington Street. Follow for six-tenths of a mile and turn right onto Belmont Street after passing the Star Market shopping center on the right. Con-tinue on Belmont Street until it intersects with Trapelo Road. Bear right onto Trapelo Road and continue for 1.7 miles. Take a left at the light and follow the sign that reads “60 Waltham to Rte 20”. This is Waverley Oaks Road (Route 60). At the next traffic light, take a right on Beaver Street. Go to second light and take left onto Falcon Way for entrance to Dana Center.
