WHO ARE YOU? • Individuals who are committed to journalism and its future. You don’t have to be a journalist but you must convince us you’re serious about becoming one. • Individuals with a passion for business and international news and who are interested in working globally. • Recent graduates, working journalists or individuals with specialist backgrounds – law, medicine, computer science, accounting etc – who want to start a new career. • You must be uent in English and able to write well and quickly. • Advanced language skills – in Arabic, Mandarin and Russian for example – are an advantage. • Expertise in data analysis is a plus. • A visual eye and multimedia experience will give you an edge. My favorite moments are those phone calls from the editor, telling me a great story is unfolding in a remote part of Kenya or elsewhere in the region, and asking very politely if I would mind jumping on the next plane to Zanzibar or Somalia.
