Rules of the Game!

SERVING The first server is in the back right corner. A serve that hits the net and goes over is

good.

SCORE A side-out occurs when the serving team

makes an error, resulting in a dead ball. You should always call the score before each

serve, and the serving teams score should be called first.

A point is awarded to either team every time a dead ball occurs. This type of scoring is called Rally Scoring.

Games up to 25 points & must be won by at least two points.

NET A ball may be played off the net at any time. You are not allowed to touch the net or

cross the imaginary line under the net.

BOUNDS A ball may not be played off the side,

bleachers or back walls. DO NOT CLIMB BLEACHERS. Get another ball.

In an official volleyball game, a hit that contacts the ceiling & comes back to your side is in play. (In P.E. It is dead a ball).

A ball that contacts the boundary lines is considered in-bounds.

THE GAME A team consists of 6 players on the court

during an official volleyball game. The players should rotate in a clockwise motion.

The ball can not be hit more than 3 times on your side per volley, unless the first touch was a block.

A player cannot hit the ball twice in a row, unless the first touch was a block.

To get the ball to the other side, roll the ball under the net.

Return another court's volleyball by picking it up and handing it to the owner. The owner needs to go get it. Replay may occur

After each game, congratulate the other team and switch sides.
