Britain’s most successful Powerboat Racing Team are looking for Sponsors and Partners to join their campaign for the 2016 Powerboat GP British RYA Powerboat Racing Season.

The Jelf Racing Team are a World renowned powerboat racing team who are a formidable force both Nationally and Internationally. Boasting no less than 5 World Championship titles between them the team just keep going from strength to strength making them Britain’s Most Successful Circuit Powerboat Racing Team.

The team consists of father and son duo, Former 3 times consecutive World F2 Champion Colin Jelf. 11 time British and 4 time European Champion Ben Jelf , European Silver GT15 Medallist and twice British Silver medallist Jonathan Brewer and the newest addition to the team Ben’s younger cousin George Elmore

The 2015 Powerboat GP Season saw the Jelf Racing Team claim European Silver Medal in the GT15 Class, 3 British RYA Championship titles, 3 British Silver Medal championship finishes and a British Bronze Medal.

Colin started his racing career around 1980 in what is now known as GT15 (Juniors) class on the UK National Circuit. He progressed to Formula 4 in 1987 and in 1988 he set the World Speed Record for the class. In 1992 he joined the Formula 2 class and in the same year won his first National title setting the course of his successful racing career. Colin made history in 2008 for being the first driver to ever achieve the triple F2 World Championship. He has also achieved two British Sprint Championships in a row in 2007 and 2008. In 2010 Colin decided to retire from competitive racing to concentrate on his Son's racing career. But made a comeback in 2013. The 2015 Season saw him return to winning ways securing the 2015 Powerboat GP RYA British Sprint Championship.

Ben started competing in late 2009 afterdeciding he wanted to follow in thefootsteps of his grandfather, father anduncle and hasn’t disappointed with his achievements. 2015 saw Ben secure his 10th & 11th British Championship titles in just 5 short years.

Ben’s 2015 British Titles added to 4 European Championship Titles, 1 World Championship and 9 previous British Championship Titles in addition to the youngster holding two World and three British Speed Records.

Respected Nationally and Internationally both on and off the water Ben is certainly a youngster to watch for the future having already become Britain’s most successful junior powerboat Racer and holding the Title of Britain’s youngest World Powerboat Racing Champion and World Record Holder.

2015 saw Ben move up to the F4 Catamaran class where he is already making waves amongst the fleet despite being the youngest competitor. Off the water he has been a valuable part of the team mentoring the younger team members and helping with his dads racing where he can.

2014 GT15 Powerboat GP Championship - 10th

Following in his Uncle, Cousin and Sisters footsteps, George Elmore is the youngest member of the Jelf Racing Team.

He Started training as soon as he turned 9 and has now completed his second full season in the Powerboat GP Championship and is already taking podium finishes despite being one of the youngest racers in the series.

George has shown grit and determination as he has progressed through the seasons events learning at every race and soaking up the knowledge from his fellow competitors and team mates.

2015 saw George secure Bronze in the Powerboat GP British RYA Sprint Championships his highest finishing position to date.

A new addition to the Jelf Racing Team for 2015 saw Jonathan achieve his most successful season to date securing Two British Silver Medals and Silver Medal at the UIM European Championships in Nottingham.

Jonathan will be hoping that during the 2016 season he can capitalise on his successes in 2015 and will be once more fighting hard for a podium place at every round of the championship as well as his first British Championship.

Jonathan is a dedicated and focussed young man that has developed quickly to become a strong young driver in the four years he has been racing. For 2016 he will hope with the guidance of the other members of the Jelf Racing Team he can improve his past results both Nationally and Internationally and help lead the team to glory.

F2 Powerboat Racing uses a tunnel hull catamaran design that is capable of both high speeds and exceptional manoeuvrability. Due to their specially designed hulls, F2 boats are able to turn almost instantaneously incurring more G forces than any other racing machine on the planet. With an extremely high power to weight ratio the acceleration of the F2 hull is truly phenomenal with acceleration measuring 0-60 mph is less than 5 seconds. The F2 Class is the pinnacle of circuit racing in the UK.

Since its inception in the UK, the class keeps on going from strength to strength producing some of the sports most exhilarating and close racing. These small monohulls provide some great action, both fast and competitive, with an average racing speed of in excess of 55mph.

Using factory ‘standard’ engines where modifications are forbidden, the GT30 Class produces close, exciting and competitive racing, which keeps running costs to a minimum.

With costs very low, this class is a great entry level for youngsters to get started in powerboat racing from as young as 9 years old. These small monohulls provide some great action, both fast and competitive with an average racing speed of 40mph and are an excellent opportunity for all those who compete to learn the skills of racing and good sportsmanship before progressing to the senior classes.
