Open enrollment is just around the corner! Don’t forget to access DStreetBenefits.com to keep you up to date with DENSO benefit plans. Take a few minutes to read through this newsletter so you are aware of changes that may impact you and your family.
In 2015, Benefit Guides were only mailed to those associates without DENSO email. Those with DENSO email were sent the guide electronically. In 2016, Benefit Guides will not be mailed to any associates—instead, they will be available in local HR/Benefits Departments to those who wish to have a printed copy. Associates and spouses can access the Benefits Guide online at DENSOBenefits.com (user name: DENSO | password: Benefits4u). A few weeks before your open enrollment, watch for a postcard like this in the mail. It will remind you how to access the electronic Benefits Guide as well as when you’ll need to log in to Oracle if you want to make plan changes, add dependents, enroll or re-enroll in flexible spending accounts, and/or change life insurance. Even if you do not have changes, you should access Oracle to verify information (spelling of name, Social Security Number, and date of birth) for you and any dependents you cover.

Open Enrollment is OPTIONAL for 2017 Here are each affiliate’s open enrollment dates; open enrollment ends at midnight Eastern Time: If you do NOT make changes in Oracle during Open Enrollment: Your health care and day care flexible spending accounts (FSA) will be $0 for 2017—even if you are
currently enrolled in an FSA. Your current medical, dental, vision and life elections (and your covered dependents) will rollover to 2017.
You must log into Oracle to change health or life insurance and/or to participate in a flexible spending account (FSA).
Important Tips to Remember If you take a prescription that requires a prior authorization (PA) from your doctor, be sure to keep up with
when it expires (usually 1 year from approval). This will avoid disruption in filling your prescriptions. You and your dependents can only have one Dental Plan. You cannot be in Dental Plus, while some of your
dependents are in Dental Core. You, and any dependents you choose to cover, will be enrolled in the plan you elect. Anyone not listed under your chosen dental plan will not have dental coverage at all.
If you enroll in Open Road, complete your HSA Contribution Form to receive DENSO’s contribution. Don’t forget to check out Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) as a way to save taxes on money you’re already
spending on qualified healthcare expenses (up to $2,500) and day care expenses (up to $5,000) for children ages 12 and under or even for elder care. For more details, view the FSA video on DStreetBenefits.com.
DENSO’s three medical plans will be offered again in 2017. Refer to page 3 to ensure you’re in the best plan for your family. Below is a summary of the changes:
Marriage Counseling
We care about you and your family, and understand that the pressures of life sometimes impact your relationship with your spouse. For this reason, DENSO will begin covering marriage counseling through Behavioral Health Systems (BHS). Currently, these services are only covered within the five (5) free EAP visits and excluded afterward.
BHS is available by calling 1-800-245-1150 and can help with situations such as childcare/eldercare locator services, substance abuse, legal/financial issues, grief counseling, depression, stress, and more.
Coaching Disease Management
Examples include coaching for diabetes, asthma, coronary artery disease and heart failure. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan will provide Complex Chronic Condition Management with outbound or
inbound coaching for the conditions listed above. DENSO will no longer use Viverae for these services.
Lifestyle Coaching Examples include coaching for dietary needs, exercise, nutrition, etc. Viverae will continue offering this feature for associates who call in for lifestyle coaching.
Chronic Condition Compliance (CCC) Program Due to recent government restrictions, DENSO will discontinue the Chronic Condition Compliance (CCC) program
which offered free or discounted prescriptions to those who set up a Care Plan with Viverae and followed up with one call with a coach. We will continue to evaluate the feasibility of reintroducing this program in future years, but are not able to continue at this time. All current CCC discounts will end on December 31, 2016.
Premiums MainStreet premiums will increase by about 3% based on actual costs for those in that plan. Current medical
trend in the US is 6.5%, so this plan’s premium increase is less than half of the US average.1
For the first time since 2011, ExpressWay and OpenRoad premiums will not change. Also, Dental and Vision premiums will not change. We appreciate your efforts to be wise healthcare consumers and help contain our costs.
Healthy Horizons DENSO launched Healthy Horizons in April 2011. Since then, most associates have participated in biometric
screenings and member health assessments, but only a small percent of associates participate beyond that.
North America Benefits evaluated vendors who could offer new, exciting tools to engage associates and promote healthy behavior and decisions. We found one that we feel may do that. Because the program is so different from what we currently offer, we want to try it at a couple affiliates before implementing at all US DENSO locations.
Therefore, in 2017, DMAT and DPAM will pilot a version of Healthy Horizons through HealthbyDesign (HbD) while other affiliates will remain with Viverae. More details will follow later in 2016; a basic overview is below. Please note: for 2017, spouses will not be eligible to participate in either of the Healthy Horizons programs.
