Because of the number of swimming pools involved (the second largest in Europe and the fourth in the world), the Spanish market offers interesting business opportunities for the refurbishment, maintenance and equipment of residential aquatic facilities. The rise in the demand for products and services for swimming pools for public use and aquatic recreational facilities, as well as for wellness and spa installations that is being driven by the country's tourism sector, is also a strong attraction.
For all these reasons, international firms believe that Piscina & Wellness Barcelona provides direct access for contacting the leading agents of demand from Spain and Latin America.
In its exhibition area, the show provided an overview of the swimming pool as a product for residential and public use, as well as installations, equipment and accessories related to wellness and spas, a specialist area that is becoming increasingly important. Innovation was emphasised more than ever, with displays of the latest innovations in products, technologies and innovative and eco-efficient solutions that improve the sustainability, control and automation of maintenance, and the experience of using swimming pools in which health and wellness are increasingly important.
CARMEN VIVANCOS MARKETING DIRECTOR, RENOLIT
We are surprised by the number of people attending,
and the number of new clients we have met.’
EXHIBITION AREA
A driver of opportunities and knowledge for companies and visitors
Piscina & Wellness Barcelona also promoted Spanish exports in the sector in Europe, Latin America and in the Mediterranean region—the show's main areas of influence—by organising business meetings between exhibitors and foreign visitors invited by the Show, and thanks to the attendance of 300 buyers with specific projects from the Spanish market, linked mainly to the hotel and tourism sector.

Visualising the role of water in health and wellnessAs in 2015, the Show built the Wellness Spa Experience, a unique initiative among the trade fairs held in the sector, which recreates a complete wellness centre in operation. This showroom was double the size compared to the previous edition, and presented various spaces equipped with the latest ideas on the market, provided by several exhibiting companies.
The Wellness Spa Experience showed visitors construction techniques, trends in design, equipment and technology and enabled them to resolve doubts with experts. There were also aesthetic and aquatic therapy demonstrations, as well as lectures focusing on the wellness business which were attended by large audiences.

ADVICE TO COMPANIES
Promoting business
Organised by ACCIÓ, the Government of Catalonia's agency for competitiveness of Catalan businesses, and ICEX España Exportación e Inversiones, this service was designed to provide guidance for Catalan companies with expansion plans, and foreign companies in a soft landing process in Catalonia.
This service was offered by the Catalan Institute of Finance, and included:
• Free advice, study of financing needs and personalised financial analysis.
• Financing for purchase/sale operations concluded during the Show.
• Financing conditions adapted to the needs of your business.
Access to foreign markets and new financing channels tend to be two issues that companies have to face in their process of growth. To solve this problem, Piscina & Wellness Barcelona launched a dual advisory service for exhibitors and visitors interested in obtaining capital to boost their ideas and business, or increasing their presence abroad.
