WHAT AN EXCITING TIME TO BE A KANSAS JAYHAWK.If any year could highlight the importance of the Williams Education Fund to the success of Kansas Athletics, last year was certainly it! Twelve teams appeared in NCAA postseason play; seven student-athletes earned All-America honors; three of our coaches were named National Coach of the Year; four coaches were named Big 12 Conference Coach of the Year; and our student-athletes accounted for 21 Big 12 First-Team All-Conference selections. Add to those honors literally dozens of national, regional and conference academic awards.

So far this academic year we’ve seen more of the same. Volleyball won the Big 12 Conference title, made a fifth-straight NCAA tournament appearance and boasted four All-Americans. Soccer reached the NCAA tournament for the second time in three years, and sophomore Sharon Lokedi finished fifth at the NCAA Cross Country Championships after winning the Big 12 title.

At the same time, our facilities surge continues. The DeBruce Center, home to the Original Rules of Basketball, opened last year and has become what we thought it would—a magnetic draw for people from all parts of campus and the region. In addition, our beautiful new indoor-outdoor tennis facility, home to our now nationally ranked tennis team, opened recently at Rock Chalk Park.

None of this could have been possible without your loyalty and financial support. We, our coaches and our student-athletes appreciate and thank you each and every day. Please know that we know that you play a significant role in this success; your continued support will ensure that success will continue now and in the future.

Rock Chalk!

JAYHAWKS

4 Williams Education Fund - 2017 Membership Guide

Support the Williams Education Fund no matter where you live! With a current donor base of 6,080

members living in 48 states and four

countries, we’re always looking to expand

our membership.

In terms of active donors, KU is in the

bottom half of the Big 12 Conference.

We need the support of Jayhawks

everywhere to help provide our student-

athletes with academic and athletic

experiences that are second-to-none!

Kansas Athletics relishes its role as

the “front porch” to the University.

Research shows that student enrollment,

standardized test scores, and donations

to the university correlate to success and

perception of its athletics programs.

By increasing our membership, we will

provide our current and future Jayhawk

student-athletes with increased scholarship

opportunities and the resources necessary

to be champions on-and-off the field of

play. We need more Jayhawk friends no

matter how large or small the gift!

*The Williams Education Fund is a 501(c)(3)

PRIORITY POINTSThe priority point system is an equitable way to determine priority for season ticket seating.

Members receive priority points for various areas of support.

REFERRAL PROGRAMNo matter where you chant “Rock Chalk,” you can help us build upon the success we have come to know and love as Jayhawks. By referring a fellow Jayhawk to join the Williams Education Fund, you will put us closer to improving our standing within the Big 12 Conference. In addition, you will receive a one-time priority point increase based on the values below. Invest in the future of Kansas Athletics by referring a new member to the Williams Education Fund. All donors receive points immediately upon pledging. Referring donor will receive points when referral pledge is paid in full.

“ I am so thankful for the Williams Education Fund and all of the

support our donors give us. We have one of the best locker rooms

in the country, if not the best, and I know they were a huge part of

making that happen.

Starting with the 2018 Fund Drive, we will reseat all venues! Donors will have two ways in which they may qualify to keep their same seats as last year (SALY).

Donors must stay at or above the All-American level and may not drop membership levels from the previous drive year.

AND Be at the $500,000 lifetime giving benchmark

• Includes cash and gift-in-kind receipts (not pledges) paid by July 2018

OR Rank in the Top 100 by priority points

All accounts that do not fall within the criteria listed above will reseat by membership level and points within each level, replicating our current allocation process for parking and postseason tickets.

This new direction will ensure the continued growth and success of Kansas Athletics and will provide exciting new opportunities to further enhance the experiences of our more than 500 student-athletes.

NEW IN 2018!

We’re excited to announce that our 2018 Fund Drive book will be delivered to you exclusively as a digital book on WilliamsFund.com. The interactive book will provide direct links to get you right where you need to be! Paper copies will only be available upon request.

Any members who maintain their 2016 level of giving for the 2017 Fund Drive may keep their same seats for the 2017 season. For members who decrease their membership level or wish to participate in Select-A-Seat, an appointment will be scheduled this spring.

Jake AlbrightTrack & Field // Senior // Bucyrus, Kan.

“ The members of the Williams Education Fund have been great contributors in helping student-athletes at the University of Kansas like myself. It has been an incredible experience to compete as a Jayhawk and I just want to say thank you for all that you have done for our University and our athletic department!

”Janet KochTennis // Sophomore // Durbanville, South Africa

“ I’m very appreciative of the opportunity to receive an education. I would not have had this opportunity back home to be able to study what I want (human biology, pre-med) and to pursue my dream of playing tennis. I’m very grateful to the members of the Williams Education Fund who made this possible for me.

Sammie SchurigSwimming & Diving // Senior // Topeka, Kan.

“ It’s such a testament to KU that no one wants to leave when they graduate. I am in the same boat, but I am comforted knowing my education here has prepared me. School is by no means easy, but the resources KU provides through alumni events and classes have given me real-world experience and an education that makes it fun to go to class.

Ariadna Fonseca Diaz Women’s Golf // Sophomore // Caracas, Venezuela

“ I’m extremely thankful. Being able to be here in the States and to attend such a great university is priceless. It is not only the education, but having the privilege to be a part of such a great community and having so many more opportunities than I would have had back home, while doing what I love – which is playing golf – is remarkable.
