Let’s start phonics today by recapping all our set 1 sounds – join in with the little girl if you can! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCBzNnSSxds

Can you read these set 1 words?

Now we can recap our speedy sounds for set 2 as you have learnt some of these already at school. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7hRbrpq5Bo

Read these set 2 words.

We have been learning set 3 sounds. Watch this video. Can you say the set 3 sounds? Do you remember all of them? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-kir1BcN64

Our sound of the day today is ‘ear’ and to help us remember this sound we say ‘hear with your ear.’This sound is a trigraph as it has three letters that make one sound.

Watch Mr Thorne as he explains all about the new sound of the day!

Can you use your Fred talk to sound out these words? Don’t forget to use your Fred fingers to count the sounds.

Listen to the wizards say the sound of the day. https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zvq9bdm/articles/z4p3pg8

Now you can read, hear and say the sound… let’s write the sound. Write it on the floor, on your hand, on your paper, or in the air. Remember there are 3 letters that make this sound, don’t forget to underline your special friends. Have a go at writing the words using your Fred talk and Fred fingers.

Challenge: Put the words into a sentence and use your new sound. This is my sentence. Can you read which word has the sound of the day in it?

Challenge: Can you spot the digraphs? Can you write a sentence and include one of the words? This is my sentence: The girl broke her foot.
