In order to improve the efficiency of the manufacturing lines of the factory, the control system company installed the Bar-Code System on each manufacturing l ine t rans fe r r ing the p roduc t da ta in to the management system. They chose the Korenix JetPort Series, the Industrial Secured Serial Device Server to enhance the Automation System of the product lines, including the JetPort 5601 and JetPort 5604.This application is adapted the network of TCP (Transmission Control Protocol – Remote Database) Server – TCP Client (Factory Manufacture Lines) with JetPort 5601 as well as through the network of the Virtual COM with JetPort 5604.

These methods have achieved the aim of Remote Management by transferring the Serial Data through the Ethernet to the database settled in the factory. The manufacturing data in other factories is transferred through the company dedicated lines with the set-up IP addresses between the Manufacture Lines and the Serial Device Server, i.e. assigning the certain JetPort devices to collect the data from certain Manufacture Lines.

Four Serial Interfaces Can Be Configured for Different Mode

The JetPort 5604 series have four serial interfaces, which can be configured with different serial interface types, such as RS232, RS422, 2-wire RS485 or 4-wire RS485. Each of the ports also can be configured with different service modes.

You can configure serial port 1 to the Virtual COM mode, serial port 2 to the TCP server, serial port 3 to the TCP client and serial port 4 to the UDP mode. All of the serial ports have their own settings and can operate well at the same time.

5V/TTL Digital Input and Digital OutputThe JetPort 5604 series provides four digital inputs and two digital outputs. It allows users to connect the termination units’ 5V TTL digital input/output. The JetPort Commander allows you to monitor the status of the DI and DO, and to assign the value of 0 or 1 to DO. The JetPort also provides one data port for users to program DI/O "get" and "set" commands figure on the right. The logic Low (Value=0) power voltage is 0-0.8V as the maximum. The logic High (Value =1) power voltage is as the minimum 2-5V. The JetPort also opens one TCP socket port for DI/DO programming commands.

Wired LAN is protected by the physical media for their infrastructure, the unauthorized access can be easily identified. Wireless LAN, which is over radio waves, does not have the same physical media protection and is difficult to avoid the illegal access. Wired Equivalent Privacy(WEP), is designed to provide the same level of security as that of a wired LAN. WEP aims to provide security by encrypting data over radio waves so that the serial data is protected from JetPort 5801 to the Access Point (AP) or another end station.
