First Saturday Eucharistic Adoration for Vocations
Please join us in our "First Sat-urday Eucharistic Adoration for Vocations" next Saturday, Sep-tember 3rd at 6:30pm. We will pray for those whom God calls to serve the Church as priests or religious. Let us pray that the Lord will inspire in them a generous response, and that He will grant them courage and vision to serve His flock.
We also pray every Thursdays, from 3:15 to 4:15pm. Join the Vocations Prayer Group so we can promote and pray for vocations: ([email protected])
The call of stewardship as a follower of Jesus Christ is deeply ingrained in how we answer our invitation to serve God and the people around us. It is in sharing our gifts, sharing who we are, as children of God that opens our eyes and the eyes of the world to the daily blessings that sur-round us.
As our summer ends and the transition into fall, with school, parish activities and other changes occur, in our lives, taking time to reassess, to look deeply into our relationship with God and our community is a good place to start. It is often during times of transition when the most fruitful
prayer happens.
Matthew Kelly in Rediscover Jesus reminds us of this important truth in our faith. “The long history of God’s relationship with humanity has always displayed his preference for collaboration over intervention. God will not snap his fingers and bring about the type of transformation we are talking about here. He desires a dy-namic collaboration with each of us. God wants us to do our part.” (102)
We often wish for intervention…God change this or that, change him or her…when God invites us to change our lives so that we might be the compassionate and merciful child who works for goodness and chooses the good in life. The transformation of a steward of God’s gifts is a person who looks upon life and searches for the blessings and then shares them with others. God Bless, Fr. Mark Arnzen
