Giinagay,

Kulai Pre-School have finished their transition to Tyalla and we wish them all the best next year in Kindergarten.

Our Yarn Up class did a talk on how to read Aboriginal artwork using art work symbols to create stories.

The Boyz Biz Group have been busy helping clean our Yuludarla garden area for our Yarning Circle.

Our Gumbaynggirr word for the week is juum = smoke.

The local Elders Groups in Coffs Harbour are:

The Jagun Elders based at Moonee

The Garlambirla Guuya-girrawaa Corporation

The Abcare Elders Group

These Elder Groups are excellent with their historical Aboriginal knowledge, which they teach to our students and

community.

The next AECG meeting is on at Corindi Public School 6th December, 2019 at 12:00 noon.

The next Coffs Harbour Local Land Council meeting is on the 28th November, 2019 at 5:30 pm.

Positive Behaviour for Learning

(PBL)

This week our PBL focus is “wearing the school uniform”. Showing respect by wearing the school uniform. Being responsible by having a uniform ready to wear. Showing resilience if you are out of uniform and are given a spare uniform to wear for the day.

Giinagay Tyalla Community,

I am Becky Bursle. I have a long history at Tyalla which began when I was a

student here in Year 6. In 2002, I was fortunate enough to return as a teacher

and I am now in my 18th year teaching at our wonderful school.

Being a teacher is really rewarding. I love having a positive impact on the lives

of our students. I have always believed that people learn best when they are

having fun in an inviting and friendly environment and so I endeavour to create

a classroom where everyone feels safe to share and where we all respect each

other. I have an amazing 3/4 class this year who are super learners.

At home I am surrounded by boys! Will, Riley and Leo are my three awesome

kids and we have a big, beautiful, boof headed dog who they named Loki. After

school and on the weekends we enjoy swimming, taking Loki for walks, riding

bikes and scooters, playing tips or hide and seek, listening to music and

dancing. We also love snuggling together and watching movies. My boys give

me lots of reasons to smile and I love being their mum more than anything

else.
