The Race of Champions 2010
Germany hosts the 2010 Race of Champions The 2010 Race of Champions will take place on Saturday November 27 (18:30) and Sunday November 28 (13:00) at the covered and heated ESPRIT arena in Düsseldorf. German stars Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel will be bidding to clinch the ROC Nations Cup for the fourth consecutive year. They will also do their best to see off the star-studded line-up to win the individual Race of Champions for the first time.
This annual post-season competition brings together the world’s best drivers from the major motorsport disciplines and pits them against each other in head-to-head races with identical cars. The last few years have seen the event hosted at the Stade de France in Paris (2004-2006), Wembley Stadium in London (2007-2008) and the ‘’Bird’s Nest’’ Olympic Stadium in Beijing (2009).
The Race of Champions 2010
The 2010 Race of Champions will take place on a specially constructed asphalt race track with two parallel lanes running round the stadium. This is motorsport as live and up close as it gets. Spectators are able to follow every instant of the racing.
The same course, the same cars and the same conditions apply for each of the head-to-head races at the Race of Champions, ensuring that the competition is decided by the driver’s skill alone. This way, 2010 will again have an answer to that burning question: ‘‘Who is the world’s best driver?’’There are two competitions –
The ROC Nations Cup on Saturday 27 November, in which the drivers are divided into teams by nationality to fight for the title: “The World’s Fastest Nation”. The individual Race of Champions follows on Sunday 28 November.
The Race of Champions on TV
The Race of Champions TV broadcast will be produced in High Definition with fixed cameras, on-board cameras, mobile cameras and a spider cam.
International coverage
The event will be broadcast live and in highlights programmes all over the world via a multitude of channels on both Saturday and Sunday. It will also be shown live on the internet.
German coverage
