This Week

In life if you want something incredible, amazing and exclusive more often than not you’ll have to pay a lot of money for it. If you want a Ferrari you’re looking at paying over £100K! It’s the same way with being a church that experiences more and more of God’s manifest presence; it’s going to cost us. It will cost us in our finances as we look to reach more and more people and continually line ourselves up with sowing and reaping money, but also in out use of time. Seeking God passionately and consistently in prayer takes time; which favourite TV shows or computer games could we sacrifice in order to spend more quality time with our God? It’s going to cost us in being bold. We must learn not to be fearful of what people think of us as we lay our hands on the sick in public and see them healed! If we want to be a church that is, week in and week out moving in the Holy Spirit, healing the sick, raising the dead, causing blind eyes to open, causing deaf ears to hear, then it won’t be handed to us on a silver plate. Now, hear me right, the Holy Spirit has been freely poured out to us and He is God’s real presence with us wherever we go. I am not talking about striving for more of God’s presence in human terms, but rather us believing that as we give ourselves totally to obeying His word (Acts 2.42) and daily worshipping and praying, what we used to think of as a cost and sacrifice will become the norm, and we will see much more of the Holy Spirit revealed in our workplaces, colleges, schools, homes-everywhere! How much are you willing to pay?
