Let’s practice “5S activities”

at home and in the community!

• “5S” means the methods of maintaining and improving workplace environment in the manufacturing and service industries. KITA is spreading the 5S campaign in the factories in developing countries as one of the methods for efficient production control with relative ease, however without spending much cost.

• 1. Rearranging （Seiri)、 2. Tidying （Seiton)、 3. Cleaning

( Seisou） 4. Cleanliness (Seiketsu、 5. Habit （Shitsuke）• By practicing 5S activities thoroughly, not only beautification of workplace

environment or enhancement of employees’ moral sense, but also improvement of business efficiency and safety in the workplace can be achieved.

• Originally, 5S activities started from households, spread in the local areas, and also spread in corporate activities.

• Practice of 5S activities in the local area will remove waste from towns, streets and rivers. Bringing waste back to home will improve local residents’ moral sense and also improve waste separation and safety
