Terres Australes et Antarctiques Françaises www.taaf.fr The French Southern and Antarctic Lands (TAAF) are spread out along an exceptional latitudinarian gradient, which runs from the tropics to the south pole. Thanks to its geographic isolation and limited occupancy the territory’s scientific and environmental issues are of significant value. Over several decades the TAAF have hosted many research projects on all five districts. Research ranges from life sciences to universe sciences. On average, 225 French and foreign researchers are present every year on the stations to work on about sixty different programs.
