Install Skype on your Personal Computer:

1. Open Internet Explorer and type https://mmcsharepoint.maimonidesmed.org

2. Type your Login credentials (User name and Password).

3. Click on “Download Additional Software” tile.

4. Depending on the version of office installed on your computer, click on either 32-bit MS

Office or 64-bit MS Office client version. (Note: Maimonides Computers are 32 bit)

5. Click Save, to save to your computer.

6. Once downloaded, click on Open and then double-click the file.

7. Select “Accept the terms of this agreement” and click Continue.

8. On the next screen, click Install Now.

9. Once the installation is completed, click Close and then click Yes to reboot your computer.

10. Once your computer is rebooted, click on start, run and type skype. Select Skype for Business.

11. Type in your email address and password to login to Skype.

To Sign into Skype (Windows)

▪ Click on the Search icon (magnify glass)

▪ Type skype in the search box > select Skype for Business.

▪ If you are signed out of the Skype application, click Sign in.

▪ To add a contact not in your organization, click on Add a contact icon

▪ Select Add a Contact not in my organization > Skype for business

▪ Enter participant IM Address and click OK.

To initiate a meeting immediately:

▪ Click the Options icon and select Meet Now from the list.

▪ Use Skype for business option, if your computer has a head set, video camera,

microphone or speaker ---Otherwise use Call me at option.

▪ Use the Call me at: option if your computer doesn’t have a headset, video camera,

microphone or speaker. ▪ Click on the drop-down arrow and select New Number > click OK.

▪ Enter your phone number > click OK (Telephone number can be your office number or your cell phone number. Using your phone allows you to hear the presenter while viewing the presented information on your computer).

▪ If you use the call me at option, you can invite people to join by clicking on Invite More

People option box.

▪ If you use Skype for Business option, you can invite people to join by clicking on Invite

More People icon.

▪ Select the names of the participants from the list and click the OK button (Names must

be selected individually).

▪ Search for a name by typing the name of the individual in the Search box > click OK to

continue.

▪ Click on Share Content icon to share your Desktop with participants.

▪ Log in the application you are presenting to the participants.

Join a Skype Meeting:

▪ Log onto Skype for Business or click the invite link in your personal calendar.

▪ Click on Join.

▪ Select OK.

To share desktop:

▪ Click Share Content icon.

▪ Select Share your Desktop from the pop-up list.

▪ Logon the application you wish to share with participants (You may also open the

application prior to sharing your desktop, click on the application icon on the bottom of

the Navigation tool bar to share the application).

Note: If your computer or the participants computers does not have a

microphone, you will logon Skype and also use your telephone. Call the

designated telephone number, you will be able to follow the presentation on the

presenter’s desktop, while listening to the presenter’s voice via telephone.

To Send invites to participants from your Personal Outlook Calendar:

▪ Open your personal Outlook Calendar.

▪ Click on New Skype Meeting.

▪ Enter the name of the participants to be invited to the Skype meeting > Click Send.

▪ Participants will receive the invite to join the Skype meeting via email.

▪ To join the Skype meeting, click on the notification received or go into your Outlook

Personal Calendar and double click on the appointment .

▪ To join by telephone, dial the phone number in the link and enter the Conference ID

when prompted to do so.

▪ To logon the meeting using your computer, click the link, Join Skype Meeting.

Click one of the two options to join the meeting:

▪ Use Skype for business option, if your computer has a head set, video camera,

microphone or speaker ---Otherwise use Call me at option.

▪ To use Call me at: option, click on the drop-down arrow and select New Number > click OK.
