Parent-Teacher Interviews Parent-Teacher Interviews will be held on Tuesday 5
th April, and
Wednesday 6th
April. School will close at lunchtime (12:40) on Tuesday to
allow for interviews to start at 1:30pm. Parents/Caregivers are asked to
collect students from school at 12:40 as buses will not run early. They will
run at the usual time of 3.00pm. Children who have an early afternoon
interview with teachers may wait at school until their interview is finished,
before leaving with their parents.
On Wednesday afternoon, from 3:30-5:30pm additional interview times
will be made available to parents who can’t make the Tuesday times.
Interviews can now be booked online. To do this, go to:
www.schoolinterviews.co.nz, enter the event code avbrf and then follow the
onscreen instructions. If you successfully complete the booking process you
will receive an email confirming your booking. If you do not have internet
access you can still book an interview by calling Kathy at the office (09
423 8042). She will do the online booking for you. Be in quick to book
your preferred times.
Board Elections Coming Soon
Board of Trustee elections will be held this year. If you think you
might be interested in being a Board member, or you think you know
someone who would make a good Board member, start thinking about
it now. Talk to current Board members and ask them about the roll,
it’s good points, and challenges, so that you can make an informed
choice later in the year. The current Board members are: Steve
Sundvick, Jason Warahi, Rachel Brierly, Jon Redwood, Deejay
Korewha, Sarah Walsh, and the Staff Trustee is Sharon Ketter.
Part of the election process is to make sure we have every
parent’s correct contact details in our system, so that we’re sure you
are receiving all the information. All forms returned by 4.00pm
today go in a draw to win the Easter Hamper pictured here.
Y7/8 RIPPA
Congratulations to our Y7/8 RIPPA Team who were unbeaten at last
week’s tournament, and now progress to the next round of the
tournament. An excellent result, and great sportsmanship too, I hear.
Well done!
Class Dojos Our Teachers have almost completed setting up “Class
Dojos.” As many of you already know, this is a fun and engaging
online tool for managing classrooms, sharing class moments and
communicating with parents. Some teachers are using all the
features, while others will just use it to communicate with
parents. To be able to message your child’s teacher directly and to
receive our communications, all you need is an internet capable
device and download the ClassDojo app. or access it through their
website. A letter will come from your class teacher soon, inviting
you to register. It’s an easy way to keep each other up to date, and
it’s free! If you need more info see www.classdojo.com Once
you have registered, remember to log in regularly for updates.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.
On Thursday 17 March, fifteen keen Wellsford School Year 7/8
students travelled to Tikipunga Sports Ground to compete in
the Northland South Zone Rippa Rugby tournament.
Our goal was simple: Make the top 6 (out of 15) to qualify for
finals day against the top 6 from Northland North Zone.
We had four really tough games, but came out on top with three wins
and one draw. We put this down to really good communication with each
other, and team work! Finals day is in two weeks and the competition
will be tougher, so more lunchtime trainings for us!
We would like to thank Daniel for coaching us, and the parents who transported us and cheered for us loudly whilst getting attacked by midgies! Results as follows: Tries (Mrs Dewes missed recording two tries in the
last game because she was too busy cheering!) - Macka 1, Jackson 1,
Callum 2, RJ 3, Brooklyn 1, Amber 4, Monique 1.
Game 1: Wellsford 3, Rawhitiroa 2 Game 2: Wellsford 3, Tikipunga 0
Game 3: Wellsford 4, Kamo5 4 Game 4: Wellsford 5, Kamo4 3
Parents and caregivers are reminded not to drive down the school driveway to drop off or collect students, before or after school, unless they are collecting a sick child from the sickbay during the school day.
