SPECTATOR INFORMATION Additional information available on the OSAA website, http://www.osaa.org/activities/btf/management 

1. EMERGENCY PLAN: In the event of an emergency, natural disaster, fire, war, etc. that forces postponement or cancellation of an OSAA State Championship event, information will be posted to the home page of the OSAA website (http://www.osaa.org) and distributed to statewide media outlets.  A recorded message will also be accessible by calling the OSAA office at 503.682.6722 x0.  

2. TIME SCHEDULE: Actual time schedule for preliminary running events will be determined when the necessary number of heats is known for each event.  The actual time schedule will be printed in the Souvenir Program.

3. ADMISSION: All persons must have a ticket or pass to enter.  Credit card sales accepted in the Bowerman Building and OSAA Ticket Trailer located at Prefontaine Plaza.  No dogs allowed inside Hayward Field

Pre‐order tickets for the Track & Field State Championships.  Tickets are available online until 10am, May 20.  All orders will be placed at the event Will Call window and available for pick‐up beginning May 22.

5. SPECTATOR CONDUCT AT OSAA SANCTIONED EVENTS  (OSAA Handbook, Executive Board Policies)  (Revised Fall 2009):  “In addition to the general expectations included in the OSAA Constitution, Rule 3, that school officials“…shall take all reasonable measures to ensure that the school’s students and supporters maintain a sportsmanlike attitude toward all events…” the

following specific expectations regarding spectator conduct at all OSAA sanctioned events, including regular and post season competition, are provided:   

A. All cheers, comments and actions shall be in direct support of one’s team.  No cheers, comments or actions shall be directed at one’s opponent or at contest officials.  Some examples of inappropriate conduct or actions that are not permitted are: turning backs, holding up newspapers or jeering at cheerleaders during opposing team introductions; disrespecting players by name, number or position; negative cheers or chants; throwing objects on the floor. 

B. Spectators are not permitted to have signs or banners (larger than 8 ½ by 11 inches), confetti, balloons or glass containers.  Spectators are required to wear shirts. 

C. Spectators are not permitted to have artificial noisemakers.  Some examples of artificial noisemakers are Thunder Stix, cowbells, clappers and air horns. 

D. Spectators shall not be permitted to use vulgar/offensive or racially/culturally insensitive language.  Spectators shall not be permitted to engage in any racially / culturally insensitive action. 

E. Spectators who fail to comply with Association or site management spectator conduct expectations may be expelled from the contest.” 

6. PARKING:  All teams and spectators are advised that parking availability surrounding the University of Oregon is restrictive.  Street parking is limited to 2‐hour parking zones and meters.  Unauthorized vehicles in University parking lots will be issued citations and towed.  Both the City of Eugene and the University of Oregon will be strictly enforcing parking.   

a. SPECTATOR PARKING:  UofO Neighborhood Parking Overview    

1) Columbia Garage – the University of Oregon strongly urges all spectators to park in located adjacent the Matt Knight Arena on East 13th Avenue.  Hourly rates vary, see http://parking.uoregon.edu/content/parking‐rates for more info. 

2) Metered Parking –  University meters: $1.25/hour  City of Eugene meters:  $1.70/hour 

b. SHUTTLE INFORMATION:  Shuttle Schedule  

1) In an effort to alleviate parking frustrations the OSAA will be providing a shuttle between Autzen Stadium and Hayward Field for the Track and Field State Championships.  The shuttle is available to participating teams and spectators at no cost.   

2) The shuttle will operate on one half hour intervals from the South Gate of Autzen Stadium to the Participant / Spectator Gate on Agate Street which is located at the south end of Hayward Field.   

3) Hours of Operation:  Thursday, 9am – 7:30pm  Friday, 8am – 10:30pm   Saturday, 8am – 6:30pm. 

4) To access parking closest to the South Gate of Autzen Stadium those choosing the shuttle option should use Entry 5 off of Leo Harris Parkway and proceed to the south end of the Autzen Stadium Lot. 

7. AWARDS:  

a. Trophies – Champion through fourth place trophies will be awarded in each classification for boys and girls at the conclusion of the championships on Saturday. 

b. Medals – Champion through 8th place medals will be awarded in each event.  We would appreciate your cooperation by ensuring that your participants follow these instructions. 

1) Running Events – Participants will be escorted directly to the awards stand following each final running event. 

2) Field Events – Participants should report to the awards stand immediately once the award winners for that field event are announced. 

c. Moda Health Athlete of the Meet – The top scoring male and female athlete in each classification be recognized as that classification’s Moda Health Athlete of the Meet.  The winners will be announced over the PA and will receive a certificate and commemorative gift from Moda Health the week following the championships.  The certificate and gift will be mailed to the student’s athletic director.

Results for all preliminaries and finals will be posted on‐site at Hayward Field.  All results, plus team standings, will be posted to the OSAA website throughout each day of the championships.

Finals Site: Sports U will be onsite at Hayward Field with a wide variety of Track & Field State Championship souvenir merchandise.  Stop by the merchandise booth to purchase t‐shirts, sweatshirts, letterman patches, lapel pins, hats and much more.  Items not sold at the event will be available for purchase online after the state championships while supplies last.  

b. Official Letterman Patches:  Get your official OSAA Track & Field State Championship letterman patch onsite at Hayward Field or by ordering online.  Forget to get one last year?  You can order an official letterman patch for any year in any OSAA activity by ordering online.

2. NORTHWEST SPORTS PHOTOGRAPHY (NSP):  http://www.4nsp.com 

a. Action and Awards Photos: NSP will shoot photos throughout Thursday, Friday and Saturday during all field and running events.  Photos taken on Thursday will be available for purchase on Friday, photos from Friday will be available Saturday at NSP’s booth.  These action photos, along with action photos from Saturday and awards presentation photos, will be available online for purchase by Monday evening following the event.

OSAA.tv will be airing a majority of the Track & Field meet LIVE over the internet at http://www.osaa.tv .  Cost to view the event is $9.95/day.  On‐demand footage from the event is free after 72 hours.  The meet will be archived and able to be purchase after the championship concludes.  Own your very own piece of state championship history with a DVD from OSAA.tv!

University of Oregon Neighborhood Parking Overview 

PARKING:  All teams and spectators are advised that parking availability surrounding the University of Oregon is restrictive.  Street parking is limited to 2‐hour parking zones and meters.  Unauthorized vehicles in University parking lots will be issued citations and towed.  Both the City of Eugene and the University of Oregon will be strictly enforcing parking.   

Columbia Garage – the University of Oregon strongly urges all spectators to park in located adjacent the Matt Knight Arena on East 13th Avenue.  Hourly rates vary, see http://parking.uoregon.edu/content/parking‐rates for more info. 

Metered Parking –  University meters: $1.25/hour  City of Eugene meters:  $1.70/hour 

SHUTTLE INFORMATION:  Shuttle Schedule  

In an effort to alleviate parking frustrations the OSAA will be providing a shuttle between Autzen Stadium and Hayward Field for the Track and Field State Championships.  The shuttle is available to participating teams and spectators at no cost.   

The shuttle will operate on one half hour intervals from the South Gate of Autzen Stadium to the Participant / Spectator Gate on Agate Street which is located at the south end of Hayward Field.   

Hours of Operation:  Thursday, 9am – 7:30pm  Friday, 8am – 10:30pm    Saturday, 8am – 6:30pm. 

To access parking closest to the South Gate of Autzen Stadium those choosing the shuttle option should use Entry 5 off of Leo Harris Parkway and proceed to the south end of the Autzen Stadium Lot.
