Writing Prompt: Do you prefer lunch or recess? Using the template below: 1) State your opinion; 2) Write 3 reasons that support your opinion (1 in each box); 3) Write a conclusion at the end, restating your opinion.

Use the "Convince Your Reader " anchor chart to help you put your sentences together. Use starters such as: I think... For example... Another reason... In conclusion...

Make sure you start each sentence with a capital, end with punctuation, and check your spelling. Refer to the "Ways to Spell Words" anchor chart.

Today, you will be learning more about how to model with math to complete word problems. This information is detailed in the 4 boxes along the top of image A below. Note that image B shows halves as shapes that are divided into two equal shares, fourths as shapes that are divided into four equal shares; we can also call fourths, quarters. Then, in your Fundations Journal, please complete #2 & #3, from image C below, by copying the shapes into your journal and using the information from the word problems to complete.
