When you are done, retell the story across 5 fingers, using the chart below to assist. Your 5-finger retell should include: the characters, setting, problem, solution, and ending. Record your retelling on Seesaw if you are able!

A reading log has been uploaded to Seesaw for daily use. Please read for at least 20 minutes each day. Students can read to themselves or others as well as listen to reading. Tangible books are great resources. If looking for more variety, please find resources on Raz-Kids, Get Epic!, or Storyline Online. Additionally, you can make book purchases via Scholastic using class code: QNNPP and the books will be delivered right to your home

Fundations: 10 minutes1) R-Controlled Word Building - Assigned on Seesaw or have students use the template below. Use the letters at the bottom to complete each word.

2) Sentence Scramble - Assigned on Seesaw or in their Fundations Journals, have students copy the following sentences in the correct order:

3) Silly Sentences - Assigned on Seesaw or using the template below, read each silly question aloud and answer yes or no to each one.

4) Four in a Row Game - Assigned on Seesaw or using the template below, take turns with a partner reading the words and marking an “x” or an “o.” The first player with 4 in a row wins the game!

Writing: 20 minutesAssigned on Seesaw. If writing in the Fundations Journal is easier, please feel free to upload a picture of the work into the Seesaw assignment each day using the camera tool! If Seesaw is unavailable, please complete in your Fundations Journal.

Writing Prompt: Do you prefer lunch or recess? Using the template below: 1) State your opinion; 2) Write 3 reasons that support your opinion (1 in each box); 3) Write a conclusion at the end, restating your opinion.

Use the "Convince Your Reader " anchor chart to help you put your sentences together. Use starters such as: I think... For example... Another reason... In conclusion...

Make sure you start each sentence with a capital, end with punctuation, and check your spelling. Refer to the "Ways to Spell Words" anchor chart.

Add a picture to go along with each reason.

Math: 30 minutes1) 15-4: Model with Math – Assigned on Seesaw.

Today, you will be learning more about how to model with math to complete word problems. This information is detailed in the 4 boxes along the top of image A below. Note that image B shows halves as shapes that are divided into two equal shares, fourths as shapes that are divided into four equal shares; we can also call fourths, quarters. Then, in your Fundations Journal, please complete #2 & #3, from image C below, by copying the shapes into your journal and using the information from the word problems to complete.
