At the top of the Start menu, right click “regedit” and then click “Run as administrator” in the “User Account Control” dialog box provides Domain Admins credentials, and then click “OK”.

Enable Remote Desktop Connection Remotely Windows Server 2012

Remote Desktop Connection? Also called Remote Desktop (RDC, formerly Microsoft Terminal Services Client, mstsc). Is the client application for RDS. It allows a user to remotely log into a networked computer running the terminal services server. RDC presents the desktop interface (or application GUI) of the remote system, as if it were accessed locally. In addition to regular (username/password) for authorizing for the remote session, RDC also supports using smart cards for authorization. How to enable Remote Desktop remotely by using the registry?

1. On any computer that is running a version of Windows Server 2012,

Windows 10 or any version of Windows, open “Regedit” as an

administrator Click “Start”, and then in “Start Search” type “regedit”. At

the top of the Start menu, right click “regedit” and then click “Run as

administrator” in the “User Account Control” dialog box provides Domain

Admins credentials, and then click “OK”.

2. It will open “Registry Editor” page.

3. Click on “File” and select “Connect Network Registry” it will open “Select

Computer” window and type the computer name which you want modify

registry then click “Check Name” after computer name resolves then click

“OK”.

4. A node will be displayed in “Registry Editor” for the remote machine.

5. In case it cannot connect to network registry as shown in below window,

that mean you have first enable “Remote Registry” for remote Pc and you

can do it from GPO see my tutorials “Enable Remote Registry”.

6. In the computer node that appears in the “Registry Editor”, navigate to

(HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal

Server), then in the console tree, click “Terminal Server” and then, in the

details pane, double-click “fDenyTSConnections”.

7. In the “Edit DWORD Value” box, in “Value date”, type (0) and then click

“OK”. This value enables connections at the level that allows connections

from computers running any version of Remote Desktop.

8. To implement the change, restart the Pc remotely, from command

Prompt type (shutdown /m \\machine name /r).

9. After restart you can login to Pc remotely and remote setting changed.
