Painterly and Sketch Photoshop Filters Objective: you will learn to… – Use the Painterly and Sketch Filters to create a painted or hand drawn classic art effect Assignment: 1. Open one of your headshots or another photo of a person 2. Do some light retouching in Lightroom

3. Open the Image in Photoshop

a. Press Command + J to make a copy of the Background Layer. b. Name that Layer - Filter, Press Command + J, two more times.

3. Go To: Filter > Filter Gallery

4. In the bottom, left corner, click on the little arrows next to the 100%, and select Fit on Screen

5. In order to find a Painterly or Sketched look, click on several filters in each of the top four sections

a. Experiment with the options on the right to see what adjustments are available

6. If you want to Reset the Filter Options, Hold Option and click on the Cancel/Reset button

7. Try several filters until you find one that looks similar to a painting or a drawing, click OK

8. Repeat #7 two more times. Apply a different filter to each of the three Filter layers 9. Adjust the Opacity, and Save as Period_PainterlyFilter_LastName.psd, and Turn in the .psd
