Mtlexs successfully organized the unique World Non-Ferrous Awards on September 8, 2017 in Mumbai, India, with ET Now as a television partner, KPMG as a Knowledge Partner and Government of Maharashtra as a Partner State. The event was the �rst-of-its-kind with its focus on recognizing and felicitating excellence in the non-ferrous metal industry.

The event was supported by companies including Hindalco Industries Ltd., Sharif Metals International and Vedanta Ltd. Other sponsors for the event included Aboura Metals-UAE, Citizen Metalloys Ltd, GTC Group-UAE, Janya Extrusions Pvt Ltd, Shar Metal Trading Co. S.A.R.L.-UAE and Star Extrusions.

The Jury members for the awards included Mr. J C Laddha CEO - Copper Business, Hindalco Industries Limited; Mr. Ranjit Baxi President, Bureau of International Recycling; Mr. Parth Gandhi - Senior Partner and Managing Director, AION India Investment Advisors Private Limited; Mr. Abhijit Pati- CEO Vedanta Aluminium Limited; Prof. K.S.S Murthy- Ex-Hon. General Secretary, Aluminium Association of India; Dr. D De Sarkar � CEO, Indian Copper Development Centre; and Mr. L Pugazhenthy - Executive Director, India Lead Zinc Development Association.

Mtlexs received a total of 180 applications, which were internally scrutinized by the advisory team for the Awards based on criteria set by the KPMG India team. It took more than 3 weeks for a team of two senior and two junior professionals to go through these applications and to �nalize 90+ applications from around 60+ companies. These applications along with the annexures and supporting documents were sent to the jury members for ranking. After intense analysis the jury selected over 90+ companies/ individuals as �nalists and �nally over 36+ winners in various categories.
