REMINDERS! - Dress Down tomorrow for our first Exploring E Day! Make sure you dress in weather appropriate clothing as we will be spending a good part of the day outside! - Book orders are due tomorrow, if you are sending them in with your child, but if you prefer, you can order online. I included our class code on the Shutterfly account but if you missed it the code is K7N9B. You are welcome to submit online orders at any time! - On Tuesday, September 15th the entire first grade, along with children all over the world, will be celebrating Dot Day. The day and activities for the day are based on the book The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds. On this day students are permitted to dress down (top only) in a dotted shirt or wear dots on their bows/ headbands. If students would prefer they can dress in dress code that day! Writing * * The morning work I have been completing: Magazine Monday- reading magazines from the Library (Sports Illustrated Kids, Highlights, National Geographic Kids and Little Kids, Boy’s Life, Zootles, etc) * -Tune Up Tuesday- working on a math activity to add to our notebook * -Write It Wednesday- some kind of writing activity * -Think Outside The Box Thursday- turning a shape/object into another (Check mine out from last week!) * - Fidget With It Friday- dgeting with something to create (last week we used play-doh) * * The 10 Black Dots book I am creating- we have created pages 1 thru 6 Math * My Math Notebook (the black speckled one)- have me show you it BUT make sure I BRING IT BACK TO SCHOOL (Check out the ip side and see the start of my Reader’s Notebook!) * Tally Marks- what are they, how do you write them and what do you do when you get to ve tallies? * Math tiling!- What is it and how do you do it? We practiced counting by 2’s, 5’s and 10’s. Extra practice at home would be benecial. * Playing POP! at morning meeting- (We were practicing skip counting in this game. Ask your child how to play and when you would say the word POP!)
