PHILADELPHIA, PA 19151
AGI affiliated glazing contractors serve owners and construction
managers with glass and metal solutions delivered on time
and on budget. AGI member contractors and craftworkers
are qualified to handle all interior and exterior architectural
glass and metal applications. From design consultation
and constructability reviews through final fabrication and
installation, AGI members raise the bar for creativity, quality,
safety, and value.
ABOUT THE COMPANYDennis Bozeman and Dedarryl Washington each got into glazing
for the opportunities the trade presented. Bozeman became
a glazier after working in plumbing and masonry. Washington
joined the union shortly after high school. They each gained
15+ years of experience on projects as significant as the dual-
branded W and Element Hotel tower in Center City.
When the two met at work several years ago, they struck up
a fast friendship. As they undertook an early morning task of
ripping out glazing to be replaced, the two talked about how
one day their strong work ethic might support a company of
their own. “We started brainstorming and stayed in touch,”

Bozeman explained. “It took some time to figure out plans. It’s
a slow process to form a business.” When he was laid off for a
few months, he used the time to complete all of the paperwork.
D&D Family Construction, LLC was officially founded in
Philadelphia on April 17, 2019 – the day after Bozeman’s 50th
birthday. Bozeman and Washington are co-owners who pride
themselves on the family-owned status and the company’s two
diversity credentials as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise
(DBE) and Minority Business Enterprise (MBE). D&D has HUD
Section 3 certification and is registered with SEPTA and the City
of Philadelphia for its Rebuild program to revitalize libraries,
parks, and recreation centers.
GLAZING SCOPEA DBE/MBE certified and bonded glazing contractor, D&D
serves GCs, building owners, and architects in the Philadelphia
five-county area. Bozeman and Washington lead operations
and perform work. “When you hire us, you’ll get us,” said
Bozeman. “We’re LU252 members as well as owners. We’re on
the jobs working side by side.” Projects benefit from his and
Washington’s experience and multitude of safety certifications.
Washington holds the Architectural Glass & Metal Technician
(AGMT) credential, a rigorous third-party assessment of his
glazing knowledge and performance earned through hands-on
and written testing. Bozeman passed the hands-on exam before
Covid-19 put his testing on hold; he will take the written test
later this year.
NOTABLE PROJECTSAs a new company, D&D performs projects as a standalone
glazing contractor and as a subcontractor to other AGI members.
D&D recently subcontracted glazing for the Hilton Garden Inn in
Camden, New Jersey, the city’s first new hotel in 50 years. D&D’s
scope of work included all of the punched window and door
openings, interior decorative glass and mirrors, and exterior
plexiglass panels to shield the outdoor areas from Delaware
River breezes. Additional recent D&D projects have included
replacing doors and windows at Potter-Thomas School and the
University of Pennsylvania.
COMMUNITY SERVICED&D maintains a commitment to community service and
giving back to businesses in need. The company supports
the Architectural Glass & Metal Association’s Small Business
Community Relief Fund. The fund was established to help small
business owners who have suffered glass damage as a result of
Covid-19 or civil unrest. D&D recently provided skilled glazing
work to repair retail storefronts for Uncle Bobbie’s Coffee &
Books in Germantown and two pizza shops in West Philadelphia.
