Requirements to Participate in Athletics1. OHSAA Physical Form - signed by a doctor
a. Good for one calendar year

3. Participation Fee
a. $60 - varsity and JV
b. $40 - free and reduced lunch AND freshmen/JV-B teams
c. Must be paid before the first game/contest of the regular season
4. Maintain eligibility
Athletic Eligibility● Must pass 5 classes in the previous quarter
○ Physical Education and Functional Athletic Development do
NOT count
○ Summer school classes do NOT count
● Weekly grade checks - beginning the third week of each quarter
○ 1st violation - Probation (Warning)
○ 2nd violation - athlete is held out of games until they are
passing 5 classes
Drug/Alcohol/Tobacco/Vaping● Cumulative from 7th through 12th grade
● 1st Violation
○ Denied participation for one calendar year
OR
○ Student AND parent agree to participate in Alternative to Denial Program
■ Student will miss 30% of the season
● 2nd Violation
○ Student will be denied participation for one calendar year - NO exceptions
● 3rd Violation
○ Student denied participation for the remainder of their athletic career at
Northmont
Vaping / E-Cigarettes / Juuling ● Becoming more and more prevalent
● Easy to hide (looks like a flashdrive)
● Seeing it in locker rooms, restrooms, in class
● Hidden in clothes (pockets, sock, bags, etc.)
Other Items● Attendance
○ Student must be present for at least THREE periods a day in order to
participate in any practice, scrimmage or game
○ Exceptions can be made by the Principal (Dr. Inkrott) or the Athletic
Director (Mr. Harding)
● Transfer Students
○ ***If transferring in the middle of or after your freshman year, must meet
with Athletic Director to fill out OHSAA transfer before playing in games or
scrimmages
● Only one sport per season
○ Cannot play soccer for Northmont and play for a club team, YMCA, church
league, rec league or any other league
○ Can play 2 sports at Northmont - if agreed upon by both coaches
